Author Topic: Flight Question...  (Read 3167 times)

I was checking out flights on COPA, and since their hub is in Panama, does this mean one has to go through customs and all that jazz 2x, or is it pretty much like having a layover here?

For example: LAX - Panama - Peru

When landing in Panama would one go through customs, and then go through the whole screening process again to catch the next flight, or is it just like catching a connection here where you are checked in to the final destination?

Thanks a million!

Hey Chris F,

Now, I am looking at some frequent flyer miles and just looking at other options. Hope all is well on the home front!

COPA leaves LAX at 1:00 AM arriving in Panama later that morning.  No customs but if you are heading to Medellin it is a terrible connection due to the ten hour layover!

I sure wish Dallas or Houston had some direct flights into Medellin for us west coast guys.

That is good news as I fly out of Houston & use Continental exclusively due to my accrued frequent flyer miles.

Thanks guys!

I think most schedules out of San Diego are pretty weak. I feel for you guys. I used to check SD as an option but began giving up on it.

I mostly use Delta for my miles and they are affiliated with Continental, but there is no mention of COPA. I see COPA uses OnePass, so I am wondering if I can use these with Delta just like Contiental? Do you know anything about this?
