You must not read the bible correctly or are believing a stereotype. Anyways this board is not the place for it. I'll refrain from posting anything else just like the political posts.

Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, and what his name who got caught boning whats her face.

Its not like Protestantism in the States.  Proselytizing is common as are intrusive attempts at imposing their beliefs on us Catholic heathens.

7:00 am Sunday Services that blast out of peoples houses with speakers wired outside so the entire neighborhood is subjected to their form of salvation did not go over well with us good Catholics attempting to sleep off a hangover.

Remember, about 90% of Latin American are Catholic.

"God grant me the Serenity to accept the things I Cannot change…

Courage to change the things I can

And Wisdom to know the difference…"  The Serenity Prayer

"You are Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it."  Matthew 16:13-19

and the most commonly repeated quote:

"I did not have sex with that woman!"  Bill Clinton:  Book Of Lies, 69:12,987-12988.

If Monica had just washed that dress.
Tricky Dick lyed all the way to the grave after Ford pardoned him.
LBJ lyed us in to a huge war.Do not compare with JW Bush here.Bush Seems wrong about WMD,but he believed as did most people that they did exist.LBJ told a flat out lie about the gulf of Tonkin.
Oh hell,I am going political again, but notice I nailed guys from both parties.
And Hillary, the pathological lawyer got a severe case of amnesia. From religion to politics,TWO off subject areas.

Ok just didn't know where you were coming from. I think the hellfire & brimstone is NOT for the believers but for the UNBELIEVERS.

UH HUH.Eternal fire for not bying somebodies belief system.
All by a loving god of course.About as smart as some Muslims who thinks god wants them to kill all infidels and they will get 80 virgins to boot.
Some people have a pretty low opinion of god as a petty tyrant.Thought up by some guy who thought the world was flat also.
Why is it the supposed word of god comes to us from such ignorant SOB's?Probably because someone a little smarter would know no man speaks for god,and we don't hear voices out of the heavens. Some MAN wrote it down.It DID NOT just appear on a piece of paper. And ,its old. They WERE NOT  wiser then. They were mostly damned ignorant.
Sorry, public radio is full of this nonsense any more since music is getting played elsewhere alot. And I did listen to my fill of it the last 4 weeks.
But I did hear some good stuff,in Eclesiastic?? sp?,a time for every purpose,But it was very clear the guy writting it was very human. He was speaking as a man who had learned over time, not as god who knew it all to start with.I actually agreed with most of what he said.It was very good actually, and very clearly written by a very human man.I am sure there is a well crafted answer for why this guy so OBVIOUSLY speaking his own mind was speaking for god, because,ITS IN THE BOOK,RIGHT?
I know that doesn't fit this carefully concieved and defended notion that EVERYTHING some guy wrote down is the literal word of god.NOTHING touced by man is beyond error, and this Holy? document got touched big time.Absolutely incredible smart people buy that.
Never give up your judgement to some guy telling you HE speaks for god, because NO ONE DOES.You just might be following a Jim Jones type.
Sorry again,you raised the issue.
The baby puckering up yet HODA?

inflammatory and apologize.  I did not mean them that way.  but MY personal experience with the evangelical movement in Latin America was mostly negative.  I was either annoyed or attempted to be converted.  I certainly did not mean to indict Protestantism in the US which for the most part is personal and private and unobtrusive.

I think alot of those televangelists are criminals and are abusing thier congregations for financial benefit. (that is what I think of when I hear the word "Evangelical") the movement in Latin America seems somewhat radical as well to me.  perhaps I am overexaggerating.

In Cartagena you can see machines of TORTURE used by the CATHOLIC CHURCH as recent as 181 years ago,to convince people of the wisdom of their beliefs.
HOW THE HELL did they get to that from turn the other cheek and love your neighbor, love your enemy even?I think the belief was that it was OK to TORTURE someone in an effort to save their soul.If that didn't work, they would get burned at the stake and sent to a loving god who would
turn that 10 miniutes of agony in to an eternity.
And we think the f- - king muslims are stupid?

from torturing and executing accused heretics, Satan worshipers, and witches, unfortunately.  Now we simply get our amusement from belittling Democrats.

Muslims on the other hand have regressed from their cultural pinnacle and their brand of barbarism continues to this day, obviously.

Heat,
Carefull,it could get turned in to a religious ritual like the people that thinks its a RELIGIOUS NECESSITY to lop a little skin off the head of your dick. By the time they got to shower once a day it had been turned in to a law of god.
However,if you are a MUSLIM WOMAN you are likely in for something alot worse, thought up by some guy who figured he wasn't getting any because his wife was masturbating.
