Whatever continent you coast to is not as relevant as who you are.  Regardless of the place or woman you choose you are always going to be stuck with YOU.  Are you the person you want to be before you look for a wife.  A long, long time ago I took a tuneup class for my brain and I made many of the best decisions of my life shortly after that weekend long class.  I know I need a mental tuneup and a refocusing and I only have a month to fit it in before Colombia.  You may consider doing something like that for yourself.  YOU may be what the issue is not where you travel to.  Perhaps you understand yourself and what your needs are thoroughly, but if not a heap of trouble could be coming your way wherever you go!
I wish you peace.

his brain is ok. it just takes work and some luck. not too many are really marriage material unless you live down there. fun to date or play but to find a wife can be difficult. the short trips make it more difficult but he needs to try which he will

Perhaps Franks brain is ok. I hope it is.   I am convinced that luck and work are a factor but not nearly as crucial as tending to your melon. 100 trips for some would bear no fruit, or worse which would be rotten fruit. The critical element is YOU!

My point is learn as much about yourself as you can and do this for yourself and you will be better able to choose a woman that you can make happy.

I hope you find this helpful. If nothing else it helps me sort out my own thoughts.

Frank, there are horror stories and successes.  Some guys get lucky others unlucky.  No guarantees, all we can do is do our best.

I have been to Colombia and Mexico many times but I have never been to either the Ukraine or Russia. However, my brother is married to an ethnic Russian from Odessa in the Ukraine. I am married to a Colombiana. Why you would even consider going to Russia/Ukraine is beyond me. Being married to a Colombiana is as close as any man will get to heaven while still on this earth. Being married to a Russian is not. Definitely not.

I'm' assuming you see something in the differences of your brothers relationship. Can you state some of the differences?

She is a rather cold and controlling person, not warm and affectionate like my wife. Also she is fairly rigid in her thinking and not at all flexible or open to new ideas. They live in Canada and she is convinced that the US is filled with violence and crime. I told her that I live in a rural area with so little crime that I don't even have a lock on my door. She flatly refused to believe me and told me that this could not be true. I think I should know if I have a lock on my own door! Also, even though she and her parents are living in Canada with my brother, they are still convinced that Communism was the best system. If it was so great, WTF are they all doing here then? Her father, who is Jewish, even has a picture of Stalin hung up in his room! Figure that out!

"Also, even though she and her parents are living in Canada with my brother, they are still convinced that Communism was the best system."

Western countries need a screening process against such leeches.  What does a host country gain when new arrivals despise the system that puts food in their mouths and a roof over their heads?

Amazing the ingratitude and lack of shame.

Scary but THAT sounds like my wife & her family!!! They are STILL communists. My wife actually campaigned for Yanukovich. What you said but being inflexible pretty much says it right there.

Frank, when you said they were communists, did you mean that they were actually party members?

When you apply of immigration, adjustment of status, or naturalization, you are required to answer under penalty of perjury whether you have ever been a member of, or in any way affiliated with, the Communist Party or any other totalitarian party.

Does answering YES automatically result in denial? I’m not sure what the current policy is, but you will at least have some further explaining to do.

Question: Why would anyone want to marry a commie anyway? :-)

Not sure. She was a party member however all she got was the K3 visa. Never got beyond that therefore never had to fill anything out asking about that. Honestly I didn't care her party affiliation as we have no Communist party here for her to join. At least not in my county & city.

Many love Stalin because it brings back NOSTALGIC and DELUDED memories of PERCEIVED stable times, since there current state of affairs is a disaster.  I am somewhat of a history buff and can tell you that those feelings are indeed delusional. However, it is hard to believe a Jewish person would have a picture of him on the wall. He was one of the top most evil men of all time second maybe only to Hitler and responible for countless murders of both Jewish and non-Jewish alike

I asked my brother what the picture of Stalin was all about. I thought maybe he had it up there as a reminder of what an evil system he had left behind. No, it was because he admires him! Unbelieveable!
