I have been in touch recently with Felicity, the book reseacher at the
TLC social events in Cali last month, who was fascinated by these
recent socials. (In the past few weeks, more than a few couples have
become engaged to marry and will start the fiancee visa process,
which may be relatively quick in the opinion of most perhaps,
but true nonetheless.)

But Felicity remarked that the tour was fascinating in that there were
so many people of different backgrounds, hopes and goals, and that
"love" means different things to the women and men, depending on a
variety of things, such as age, class background, etc. She remarked that
it has helped her to stop and rethink our western (U.S.) conception of love.
Like many others, she also observed that long distance relationships
especially with different languages involved are not for the weak of heart.

The most important thing, regardless of one's philosophy of love,
it seems is that couples try and understand each other and work through
any of their issues in a loving context.

PS If anyone who is married to a Latina wants to be part of her

It's very interesting to see, that Felicity had to "stop & rethink" her (US) conception of love....and possibly, what drives men to go south, east & west! I'll give her some props in understanding that this quest is not for the "weak of heart"...

This question is better directed to the tour operators and agency owners,
since many couples who get engaged do not necessarily use my service,
and thus would not necessarily inform me or keep me advised.

well, i have seen more than my share of horror stories. one poor amigo of mine just came home from Bog yesterday with a returned ring, did not get laid (ever), and now has to cancel the k1. on top of that he has a bad case of the runs. but i know there are successes.

I don't mean that in a bad way but if I had returned home like that I wouldn NOT have been hurt anywhere NEAR as I am now man. You live & learn but I wish I had just had Diana say no to me. It would have hurt but I would have moved on & NOT had 2 years of emotional & financial involvment/investment in her. This is NOT for the meek man.

Now that is a horror story!

The rest is a success story. Your friend gives a ring to a woman that didn't want to have sex with him (AND GETS IT BACK) and he stops the visa process before she ever gets here.

I'd tell your friend to go to Cali because even he could probably get laid there. But the chances of him getting the ring back are slim and none. hehehe !!!

Maybe he gave here a cubic zirconia ring and when she went to the jewelry store to get it appraised she found out it was worthless and canceled the relationship.

You are so righto on that amigo...a Calena giving the ring back! ha! but at least he would have gotten laid. too bad he fell in love in Bogota. Cali might be my next stop if things dont workout in BQ. I will try to get him to go

Howard,
If you mean Felicity,Jesse talked to her when she was still in Cali.She stayed several more days at the Intercontinental connecting with people.I was going to call her when I was in San Jose,but I can just call her from Cali.I did meet her,I am not fearfull about what she will say.She seems mostly interested in the womens motivations.
If you are talking about Calipro I think he will be headed back to the US about now.
