Thank you for thinking of me, but I fly solo- and I do not post on this board to provide humor for you or anyone else on this board!  We all must start somewhere.  This new poster needs some encouragement from all of us other posters, whether we  have taken 1 trip or 100 trips to LA.

Why waste time when New York is full of New York Ricans (puerto ricans even including some with pure spanish blood) with the same latin language, culture, passport, and just as "nationalistic puerto rican'a" as in other latin cultures.
Why go to Colombia for an educated woman wanting to come to the states as your wife, then after arriving here wanting to further her career first, now your wife secondly, and all this at your expense, aside from the fact one does not have to put up with all the immigration nonsense.

I think Puerto Ricans are my favorite by far... but my guess is that they are hard to get since not many posts about them in the boards and elsewhere ... any insight anyone?

I live in NYC, where there are more PRs than on the island (actual stat, that)!

And what I notice is that they will definitely go for white guys -- that's a definite plus with them, even though many wouldn't think of themselves as "white."

The other thing about PRs is that they probably feel more "American" than "immigrant," and thus probably act that way, too -- so the "exotic" aspect to them being latinas maybe loses its appeal and thus there aren't as many posts....

See, that's just the thing...the "myth" is that they're supposedly more "traditional" over there...more PRs here than in PR!  But I hear that from PR ladies here in NYC, that somehow folks are just magically different back on the island, so I wonder why all the latinas seem to come here and suddenly turn materialistic, bitchy ("me me me"), etc.??  Seriously, I wonder if their hispanic men messed them up!

Anyway, I'd said I felt like such a loser...33, great shape, good looking, decent job, no kids -- and in NYC, wiht all these latinas!  But it ain't happened yet...sure i"m picky, but so are they.  I was wondering if it could be really all that different over there...hmmm....

Well, I'll continue lurking these boards and see what folks report.

you can go to Argentina and avoid most of the  music you just mentioned or Spain, but the game in Spain is just not the same.

also, there is not much black in Argentina.  so buy some really good headphones and since you cannot and don't want to understand them anyway it won't make a bit of difference.

Yeah, the light-skinned dominicanas are the nuclear bomb of womankind!!!!

There seems to be only one agency that does the DR, and they're 99% black as in Africa-black.

Anyway, I don't mean to make the music the focal point of my posts...like I said, I can appreciate the music well enough every now and then during sex!  It's just not the thing I want to wake up to, nor come home to after a hard day's work....

BTW, I notice that many folks here mention amigos.com.  In my limited experience with them, I had a lot more going back years ago when they were actually free!  This was like Y2K...then last year I actually paid for a membership, and boy it sucked...lots of scammers, to begin with, and just time-wasters in general (seems like latinas just like having an ear or kleenex tissue).

LOL -- you know, it kills me when the US mainstream thinks J. Lo has a big butt...that's just entry-level aesthetics in the Bronx, NYC!

Maybe Peru would suit you.

One of the surprising things I discovered while there is that American and British-style music is very popular, especially 80's new-wave stuff (often heard in the background in taxis, restaurants, shops, department stores, etc.)  There also seems to be a lot of American music translated into and sung by Spanish artists/groups.  My ex, her family, and one other friend I'd been in contact with tended to listen to this stuff often (Madonna songs in Spanish, the Scorpions, folk-rock groups, etc.)

There are many pockets of beauty in and around the Lima metropolis, though Colombia seems to have the market locked on mass hotties.  Peruvian women also seem to be a bit more reserved, yet very receptive to encounters.

And the food is freaking spectacular.

Thanks for the tip...in my neighborhood in NYC there is actually a Spanish rock and roll club/bar -- but I ain't into that scene at all (I don't drink at all!).

Imagine a nerd trapped in an athlete's body...or a stereotypical old fogey in a youngin's body...something like that quite describes me.  Yet I do have that appetite for a latina!  It's just rather discouraging that the shapely curvy ones I like (that I say have some "black" in them) tend to be the "machisma" sort who insist you learn Spanish though they haven't any interest in learning English despite living here!  Et cetera.

Well, like I said, I live and work in NYC but all the latinas I ever seem to see have have kids (what's this, a fashion accessory or something??) by four different fathers, look down on books and learning, insist on my learning Spanish, and tune in to telenovelas every day!

I know that's a stereotype but believe me I'm getting real discouraged here after like five years of this...how do y'all hold up???

Oh, I don't mind the music when having sex with them...love to hear them talk Spanish too as I pump 'em!  Just don't like them badgering me to learn Spanish, or like that noise outside the bedroom....

Anyway, I'm sure that's not a big deal.  Was with a real cute Hondurena for four years without that crap!  (And now a lot of 'em even like hispanic rap...LOL!)

Anyway...other than the music, what else would you say about the situation I've described?  Specifically, do you think my chances will improve here or there?  I think my not wanting the music is okay with some latinas here, though maybe over there it wouldn't be such a hot idea.  But other than that, what else?

Has anyone ever met a young beautiful latina (not necessarily a 10 or 9 or even 8 but at least a 6 or 7) who's not bubble-gum frivolous or materialistic ***AND*** doesn't have kids???  The only ones I ever saw of this kind were in college but I'm out of college now.
