I had not been paying much attention to the processing dates for the National Benefits Center in Missouri for the K-3. They had fallen so far behind that it was taking as long as 9 months for a petition to be approved. Lo and behold, recently I find that the processing date as of July 7, 2005 is June 14, 2005. Then yesterday, I read a thread on Visa Journey about a guy who got his K-3 approved in 21 days. The guy could have his wife here in as little as 3 months!

That's weird. Their last monthly report had them about 4 months behind.

Maybe they caught up because most people gave up and stopped filing K-3s?

It's very strange. People had given up and stopped filing K-3s because they were so far behind. I thought it was semi-intentional on their part - by speeding up on the I-130s people would stop filing for the K-3. But a 21 day approval time would make them seem worthwhile again. Who can figure the USCIS?

Perhaps it's another plot to get more money out of us? Filing fees for both I-130 and K-3 but no refund for the one you don't use.

I have had at least two K-3 petitions recently approved
at the 30 day mark or less, so some petitions are
being approved at a velocity making the K-3
process beneficial again. If I am able to obtain
some more current information about happenings
at NBC, I will post it here. Regards.
