thats the problem, you have to stay out of the big cities, Moscow and St Pete are the last places your going to find a nice girl. thats like looking in Los Angeles or New York.
You know how many hookers are in Mocsow, its incredible!!!!

Probably true.  My gal was from Tver though but after a few days there we went to Moscow and then on to St. Pete.  I really liked St. Pete, great city especially during the white nights.

CJ,

You must have used LTP then if you went to Tver. One of their salesmen, Marc, did a good job following up with telephone calls and finally convinced me, along with all those videos of the beautiful women being interviewed to make my first trip abroard looking for a wife.

I took that overnight train to SPB from Tver and thought I'd stepped back in time. A terrible ride getting to SPB but I had some nice company with one of those beautiful long legged blondes the FSU is famous for.

SPB was indeed very beautiful stepped in rich history but it seemed very run down and dangerous. Experiencing the "white nights" sure was an interesting experience. Nightfall didn't really occur until 1:00 AM or so.

After the SPB run I flew down to Sochi, the Russian Riviera. I was surprised to see that this city is actually tropical in climate. The beaches there could not compete with the beautiful CA/SA I have visited.

The following summer I returned to Sochi and also did a side trip to Bishkek prior to 9/11. Ahh, the memories.

After one trip to Colombia though I was sold on the Latin culture and although there aren't many natural blondes in SA I decided not to return to the FSU in search of a sweetheart. I found the Latin women and culture much more to my liking.

There are lots of pros and cons and I might be preaching to the choir but here are a few of my observations in comparing both locations. Your mileage may vary.

LATIN

Pros:
Beautiful
Affectionate
Easier language
Similar alphabet
Better food
Less travel time/expense getting there
No visa
Easier adjustment to US culture
Little jetlag
Nice accent
Nice winters
Less scammers

Cons:
Large family unit
Few natural blondes
Aguardiente
Less educated
Less agencies
Dangerous visiting

RUSSIAN

Pro:
Very beautiful women
Many natural blondes
Taller in height
More agencies
Armenian Cognac
Highly educated/cultured
Small family unit
Nice accent

Con:
Matriarchal society
Can become ruthless
Very difficult language
Different alphabet
Standoffish (at first)
Terrible food
Greater travel time/expense
Visa required
Dangerous visiting
Lots of jetlag
Cold winters
Tons of scammers

Chao y poka!

No I didn't use that agency but if I remember correctly it was out of Santa Clara California which was about 10 minutes from where I was living at the time.  No I was posting in those days over on the RWL, a lively place for sure. lol  Somehow through RWL I came in contact with a Russian lady in San Jose but originally from from St. Pete.  She had a little agency and I started writing some of her gals and 6 months later I got on a plane for Moscow from SFO. It was a direct flight from SFO (San Francisco) with 1 hour layover in St. Pete.  Flew right over the north pole more or less, 12 hour flight.  Her family picked me up in Moscow, we hung out in Moscow for a day and then we drove about 100 miles an hour back to TVER, scared me half to death.  First couple days were OK but it became clear that my 1.78M Russian had truly the personality of a super-model.  Yes, she was tall, curvy and gorgeous but she was just too into herself.  Even my translator commented on it, she said 'James, not all Russian women are like Iryna' and she didn't mean it as a compliment.

I had no backup plan and was more or less committed to 2 weeks with her so I made the best of it.  In a lot of ways I had a really good time.  Iryna had moments where she let down her super-model personna and was actually funny.  Despite your experience, I enjoyed the midnight train to Saint Pete.  We had our own cabin, the service was good, it was like stepping into a Bogart movie or something, kind of surreal in a cool way.  Although now that I think about it, using the bathroom was interesting. lol.

When we got to St. Pete we were picked up and I rented a flat out about 15 or 20 minutes by metro from the city center.  It was a flat about 5 floors up in a 10 story cement communist looking building.  These buildings went on for miles it seemed, all drab looking, no personality but it was interesting for sure.  My translator was cool, she was a tall blond, very pretty and she spoke excellent British English.  She was only 21 but smart, man she was smart.  I was almost embarressed when we would talk about literature or history and in general that was my experience with Russian people, very well educated.  Except my Iryna, probably not the book smart intellect of my translators but she was street smart for sure.  Anyway, I knew it wasn't going to work out with Iryna, we more or less said our good byes after two weeks.  She told me she didn't really need me anyway as there were "new Russians" (mafiosos) she could always hook up with.  I have no doubt with her looks that what she said was true.  One trip to Russia was enough for me!

Money is only a vehicle to get you to the real important stuff in life.
