A Guy working at the NAIA asked me if I needed help.
I told him I was looking for the EVA office. He said "it's just there"
and pointed half way across the building. I dragged my bags there
and it was NOT there. Turns out it was about 30 feet from where I had started.
Why do filipinos give wrong/bad directions? This is not the first time it has happened.
If they don't know why not just say "sorry" or even "go away"?
Needed a taxi to get to the Domestic Airport from the international.
The Taxi counter lady said P253 I knew this was a rip but could be worse
and after 18 hours of flying who cares. Anyway I gave her P300 and she
said she had no P47 to give me only P40.....(a nickle here a dime there.)
Well I reached into my pocket and pulled out P3 in coins which I had from my last trip :0)
She looked shocked and disappointed. That is why she said P253 instead of
P250 since she new most foriengers would not have change....
The back of the Taxi Receipt says "Each passenger of the vehicle is covered
with a P100 Personal Death insurance" I felt a lot better knowing that if
I die in that taxi my family would get a whole U.S. $2.00......LOL
I did give some P to some street kids who were banging on the taxi window.
Chris told me not to since it only encourages them and most have older boys
watching who will just take it from them or take there cut. I wish I could
help ALL those street kids even tiny babies lying on the sides of the roads
covered in soot. How heart breaking.
If you get to the airport Very Early, I was 2nd in line, ask for a seat close
to the front of the plane. I did this both there and back and both times
was bumped up to EVA Evergreen Deluxe class for the first leg of the flights.
Well it's late so more later.....
