Lord, give me the virture of patience, RIGHT NOW!

Say, here's a good rule for you (and anybody else):
Neither of you is allowed to get mad, feel hurt, mistrusting or any other negative thing for anything caused by either 1) Failure to communicate (due to faulty telephones or whatever) or 2)Misunderstanding of the other's language. If either of you THINK the other has said something bad (or failed to call or be availble to receive a call, what ever)....wait a while, calm down and try again.....works for us.

Remember, phone service into and from Colombia is iffy at times, FARC blows up a rely tower, too much rain, the phone gods get pissed....who knows? About 2 weeks ago we couldn't get through to my wife's kids in Cali for 5 or 6 days, had to have a friend lend them a cell phone, cell phone calls were going through, but land line calls weren't (not just mine, come to think, on another forum some other people were saying they couldn't get their calls through either). So don't read too much into 'she didn't call' or 'she didn't answer my calls'....she's called NOW, hasn't she?

Since I didn't follow you around on your trip, and the lady hasn't confided in ME, I don't know anything for sure, but it  looks to me you two had some rotten phone luck, but she seems interested and trying to keep the communications going. I wouldn't write her off yet. Keep phoning, keep emailing, go back to see her again when you get the time/money, but don't wait too long.

Michael B,

Thanks again for the words of encouragement.  Also thanks for the help with the phone card.  I used it, but you already know about the phone line problems. I have now bought another card from Wal-Mart. I am hoping and praying that things can be worked out.  However, I must admit, rejection is still not an easy thing to deal with-- and I hate lying deceitful people!  So, one's imagination can run wild when you are trying your best to contact the other person to no avail.  So, today is Sunday, and I will be doing a lot of praying in church today!  Thanks again.

you got 3 things in your favor: 1. sex 2. phone call to US from her 3. good email. you are still in the running here but a return trip in the near future with a good backup plan alternative city would be a smart move. dont put off a return for too long a period of time if again you really want to find a wife

Papi,

Yes, I agree.  Now, for the real test.  I must really and truly find out what this lady wants -- or doesn't want!
