Hey Calipro!!!

I read your recent post about your trip to Cali and how you went to Latin Encounters.

What I dont understand...with all due respect....is with your years of experience with Cali Colombia and hopefully by now...the Spanish language....you still have to use the services of an agency when you visit Cali?

Again...I ask this question with all due respect...I would just assume that someone with your in depth knowledge of Cali Colombia would have no problem by now knowing where to meet women without the use of an agency.

Why agencies? That is easy to answer. Time is money.

I was only in Cali ten days on my last trip. I spent $800 or so on the airfare and about $90 for a suite at the Intercontinental. So that comes to about $170 a day. Everyday that I didn't meet someone new that I was interested in and interested in me is a $170 lost in my book.

I'm good but I'm not that good. I would have taken me days of hanging out to meet 5 women that I wanted to meet and that were interested in meeting a gringo. Why not pay someone a few hundred and meet them all in one day with vertually no effort on my part. You can still hang out at Chipichape after you are done with your citas and meet more women. I think about 7pm is the best time to go and it gives you about three hours to get phone numbers before you pick up the girl you met at the agency to go dancing. The discotecs don't really start going untill about a 11pm.

Besides I have the triple lifetime membership at All Colombian Grils so the only thing it costs me to meet women there is taxi fare.

The best way of meeting women in Colombia is having a net work of friends which is good but can be time consuming. I have never been to a disco that I thought was good to pick up women. They just don't have singles bars there like they do in the states. Women that are in a disco are 99% of the time with someone.

If I had to pick one place that I thought would be the best disco were you could actually meet someone, it would be tienda vieja on sunday nights. Just wait until most are out dancing on the floor and then ask some of the ladies that are sitting if they would like to dance. Not my idea of a good time but some might find it entertaining.

I think one thing we all need to remember and keep in mind is that we need to find a latina that is willing to leave her family, friends and in some cases careers to relocate with us to the USA... I remember several incidents when during the "introduction" stage at an agency I had asked one of the "newer/younger" latinas who had recently joined "Have you thought about how you would feel leaving your family and friends, not being able to see them very often???   She proceded to give me the "deer in the headlights look"...  I knew that introduction was not going anywhere.    Hopefully the latinas at the agency are prepared to take the plunge, are single, and do want a relationship if the right guy comes along.   To walk up to any hot latina on the street will still leave us with the questions: is she single, willing to leave her family and friends, and does she seek a relationship.   For some of us guys that have a limited budget in regards to how many days we can stay in Colombia and be on the prowl the agency does leave us with a more fertile ground from my perspective.    As far as meeting a latina at a disco, sort of reminds me of the latinas who frequent the agency parties with no sincere intentions of meeting Mr. Right but enjoy having the "night out".

That is the big challenge isn't it?  I certainly enjoy the company of a beautiful latina, but I also don't have the time, money or patience to just waste my time with a girl who has absolutely no desire to leave her home and family.  Of course, I can't really blame her either.  That is indeed a big step.  But, the agencies try to tell us that they have discussed these type issues with the girls. Who knows?  But, I would be willing to bet that many of the girls are just "window shoppers", and curiousity seekers.  But, then again, probably many men are just there to feed their egos and tried to get laid.  Naturally, many of them succeed with that, but don't take the girl home either.  So, I am certainly the type of guy who wants to look below the surface and see if I am talking to a girl who really is serious.  That is one reason why I have been writing to the calena I about to go see.  I figured that either she was interested or she would get bored and quit writing.  So far so good.  She seems to be real.  Take care.
