Hi all
We just went today to turn in my wifes change of status papers. it must have been out lucky day - its seems that you can only file at the local office until April 1. After that you have to file to the "lock box" in Chicago or wherever (mail)
The lady was super nice and we go back on Friday to pick up her work papers.

Now the down side. The costs of just the paperwork alone is out of site. I think the total for today was $550 and thats without the parole papers for temp travel.
If you are needing to budget for your future bride dont forget all of these fees.
Plus she will need to get the Visa in her county, ,medical exam, passport photos, shots, birth certificate etc etc etc

Its all very worthwhile.
Everything is going great here. Spring has arrived in St. Louis and we are on our way!

In terms of money spent for filing fees, the K-1 route followed by the AOS with an EAD and AP thrown in for good measure is probably the most expensive process although quite fast. Marrying first and going the immigrant visa route (CR-1) is much cheaper but at the same time, much slower.
