Update:

Filed I-130 (spousal) through NSC Jan, 2001
Called National Visa Center today.
They said NVC processing completed Oct. 15th, 2001
and info will be sent to Manila Embassy 2-4 weeks
from that day.

Questions:

Does the NVC cable it or just send to Embassy
through good ole US Mail?

Does it really take NVC 2-4 weeks just to "send"
it to the US Embassy?

After Embassy gets it how long until they notify
my wife in Cebu of the interview date?

HOW do they notify her? Mail? Phone? cable?

Any and all help appreciated?
It has been a long year since our marriage.
Things are finally moving along.

INS ... Done
NSC ... Done
NVC ... Done

US Embassy.... tick tock...

By the way still no 2nd NOA on our K-3.
Hope they just found our approved I-130 and dumped
the K-3 since the Spousal process is nearly complete.

Dingoman,

Things should start moving real fast now. I went through this earlier this year so I don’t know how much the procedures have changed.

For what it’s worth, this was our experience:

1/18/01:  NVC approved and said they “mailed” it to Manila same day.
2/15/01:  Wife received appointment letter for scheduled interview on 3/6/01, delivered by LBC courier.
3/6/01:   Passed interview (1.5 hours in embassy)
3/13/01:  Visa delivered by Delbros in Metro Manila.

Hope that helps a little. As I said, things could move real fast so have her ready to go with a bag packed for Manila. I’m interested to find out if your wife has an interview. Keep us posted and good luck!
