There was an interesting show on Rocio on Telemundo today.

The show addressed the difficulty that Latinos with professional lic. in their home country have after arriving in the USA.

They were primarily talking about Docotors, nurses and Dentist and such.

One lady from Colombia who was a dentist had a lot of problems even after leaning how to speak and write English.  She was living in Miami commented on how difficult it is to learn Engish there since everyone speaks Spanish. ha ha. She now lives in New Orleans and is working in the hospital where I was born(if my Spanish was correct)

What was interesting is Rocio (the host asked what she did when she arrived in the US after marrying) and she said nothing but study English... No work.

It reminded me of a conversation I had with another member yesterday.  We were discussing the importance of helping the ladies to realize fact from fiction regarding living here in the US the first couple months/years.  Its very important to help the ladies that after the fantasy of being in love and arriving that sometimes things will be slow and she has to exercise patient and most of all have have realistic expectations about life and work.

I'm sure most of the experienced guys know this so its more for the newer ones.

Im not claiming to be a expert, but only sharing my thoughts about how I approach things.  I was surprised at how some women think, I'll arrive today start a job tomorrow.

If anyone that is fluent in Spanish saw the show, please feel free to comment on the particulars of it.
