My noiva’s friend is 31 years old, never married, no children, about 5'6" and 120 pounds. She is dark skinned but does not have African features. She looks more like a dark skinned Indian or Pakistani She has dark wavy hair to just below her shoulders. She has a face that is pretty enough for her to not have difficulty attracting decent men. She has received 38 letters so far; 36 from Black Americans and 2 from White Europeans.
What type of man is she looking for? A young, good looking white skinned man!!!! What does she think about the current European suitor? She doesn’t like him! What wrong with him? He’s too old and too fat!!! The other European was not handsome enough! This friend DID meet a man who met her standards. He was 38 years old but looked 10 years younger, was very good looking and fit, but was the boyfriend of another woman. My noiva said that her friend really had the hots for this guy. I asked if this guy was really interested in her because most really handsome men try for the youngest women they can get. She replied that is exactly the case: he is chasing women in their early 20's!
We agreed that this friend of hers has very unrealistic expectations of the type of man she can attract. She has been so frustrated and become so disappointed in trying to meet a young handsome White man through Latin Euro that she is soon going to remove her profile and try going after White Brazilian men. This made me remark that women in the agencies need to do as much of a “check-up from the neck up” as the men who patronize the agencies. My noiva agreed and said she has been trying to tell her friend that she needs to think through what it means to get involved with a foreign man. (I hadn’t said this yet, but my noiva is divorced from a Briton so she has experience with foreign men.) She related how she explained that foreign men have a completely different mentality regarding relationships than Brazilian men. She said that foreign men are less concerned with the “here and now” and much more concerned about the future, that they are much more conscientious about money, and very concerned about value. But she found that her friend did not listen to her much on these points.
I said that I felt that her friend was being very affectionate to him for someone not interested in him. She felt the same way and had told her to be straight with him about her feelings. My noiva had complained to her during their bathroom break that she seemed to be leading him on the way she cuddled with him and let him hug and caress her. Her friend said that she would tell him later that she was not interested in romance with him.
