Rampage: Bogota, Colombia
« on: December 14, 2015, 12:32:14 PM »
City in General:
Colombia I've had a lot a fun here in Bogota as my time here is coming to an end. It's not as festive as Cali, Colombia but it's a lot funner here than what meets the eye. Bogota seems to be more business oriented. La Zona Rosa has a bunch of cafes, shops, bars and disco and a lot of high-end malls. I wasn't totally expecting that. Like Mexico it's pretty inexpensive to stay here 50,000 pesos is around 20usd, Don't get me wrong, you can still rack up a large tab if you wanted to but you can get good meals for 7,000 - 15,000 pesos which amounts to around 4 to 8usd. By far the worst thing about this region of Colombia is the weather, hands down. It's tucked in this mountain range and it makes for some pretty cool weather. It'll be in the mid 70's during the day and low 30s at night. It's a very wild temperature change. Luckily that was the only bad thing about Bogota. The People: The people here are pretty cool, I never had any problem with anyone while going out. Every one dances primarily salsa. They played bachata but most of the women don't actually know how to dance bachata and my salsa isn't the greatest but neither was most pf the people who danced, which was a bit frustrating. Getting a taxi was pretty simple but I always had the place where ever I was at call a taxi for me and it was never an issue. Although last night, the bar I was at called a taxi but it was taking to long and the one guy had me ride on his bike. It was a a sure,"Oh [snip], I should not have done that" moment. All in all it was good trip, met some cool people, ate some good food and drank some cool licors unique to Colombia. I don't think I'll come back to this city but it was worth visiting a least once.

The Women:
The women were decent they didn't come off in any real negative women. Yea, I saw some sexy women but for every bunk ones as well. Idk, I guess I get a bit angry when people brag about Colombian like they are just every, they're no better or worst for me than any were also I've been so far. The one thing I did pick up on is they really do care more about image and I also noticed that more of the women did have pretty decent bodies even if there face looked like it went through a cheese grader. But they were pretty cool though.

I met the girl on the far lower right and the far left Friday night @ Buffalo Winger. I think the one right liked me. She asked me how long I was going to be there. I told her the truth when in hindsght, I should of lied lol. Its kind of funny fter a girl has kids they want to be all prudish and sh*t. I had asked her out for a lunch or dinner and she said something to the effect of, "with my son". I pretty much immediately lost interest after that. But we got to hang out and have fun

You had a good time even though it sounds as though this is your first and last time with Bogota. I've been to Bogota several times since my sister-in-law lives there. It's a huge city with a lot to see and do but to me it's like Uruguay when it comes to women. Sure there are some attractive women but no one would go there just for the women. For me, Medellin is the gold standard when it comes to chicks.

Good trip report, thanks for posting it.
I´ve been in Bogota a few times and you pretty well summed it up. The weather is fantastic compared to Rochester New York in the Winter, but it sure is chilly compared to most of the rest of Colombia.
I found the cold weather dampened the girl´s ambition to dress provocatively, which is so common in the warmer cities like Cali and Medellin and Barranquilla. Also, I noticed the girls had a more blocky and less feminine look about them, probably because of the indigenous look of the tribes in that region. I also found more girls there that could carry a good conversation, probably because of the number of universities there.
I also noticed the four girls in your foto and not one push up bra or plunging neckline in the bunch. The manner of dress is very conservative compared to the warm and hot cities in colombia.
My favorite place in Bogota is the Bogota Brewing Company. They have the best beer I´ve had in Colombia and they give you the free sampler which has four of their micro brews in quarter pint glasses. Their fast food is excellent, too.
Several times I´ve had girls tell me they will go out with me or come to visit me if they can bring their son or daughter. It´s common here. Sometimes it is because they sort of rely on the child as a chaperone, but more usually it is because they don´t have a babysitter in the house and they can´t afford to hire one.
Usually it chills my enthusiasm too, like it did yours. But a few times I´ve offered to pay for a babysitter and they has been a big hit with them. They are single mothers and they enjoy a little kid free time, too.
A few times I´ve invited girls to spend the weekend with me and they need to bring a child and I´m okay with that. I have a double decker air mattress for the kid to sleep on. So far that has worked out pretty good. It´s much easier without kids of course, but, I do like kids and they can be fun to hang out with. Seeing how the mother treats the kid is a big insight into her personality and mothering skills, too.
For me, the gold standard for women in Colombia is Barranquilla, then Cali, then Pereira-Manizales-Armenia and then Popayan. I would put Medellin lower on my list, along with Bucaramanga. Just my opinion.

When I first got there every one had jackets and coats. In my head I'm wtf, a little cool maybe but not cold. Let me tell you how quick my attitude changed around 1900 that night. It's just too cold and temperature variation from the high to the low is just too damn much. I hadn't been through something like that since leaving Iraq, where 130 during the to 80 at night. It doesn't doesn't sound bad on paper but that 30 - 40 degree change really messes with you, or at ;east it did w/ me. Yea, it's too cold to dress like the women do in Cali and I'm sure in other parts of Colombia

...and as bad as this might sound, I just kinda sort hate kids. I don't enjoy being around them, I don't like hearing them and I don't like dealing w/ them and pretending that I give a damn about them. I'm just not that desperate yet lmao.

Having said that I do find kids in SAmerica to be far more well mannered than their North American counter-parts

Bogota is probably the worst city in Colombia you can go to if you're looking for stunners. The coast, Medellin and Cali are much better. How many gringos do you see here that settled down in Bogota? Well...that's not by accident.  ;)  It ain't just because of the [snip]ty weather.

You know honestly, I don't think I saw a lot if any. I don't know exaclty where I was at but maybe you can take a look at this and recognize: http://www.travelingswordsman.com/Home/Post/25

So yea, I'm working on a blog, it's still a work in progress, but I want it to be photocentric and show where I took pictures of things. Maybe you can tell by the map. I know I wasn't far from the mountain range though. One of the girls told me there were lot of foreigners but she mentioned Chilieans and Peruvians and not even so much as North Americans. But I honestly didn't notice it, well, not like I did with Cali

Kai, Colombia has the hottest women other than Brazil or Venezuela. That's why it's such a hunting ground for gringos. That being said, Bogota is the last place in Colombia I would go looking for women.. I just don't find most cachacas attractive, including the ones in your pic....

I'm sure Bogota with over 13 million residents has it's fair sure of beautiful women.  Do you think k2 who drops into town for 3 days, hits a few tourist spots and then jets out is going to find the hotter Rolo chicas?  I think bcc and benjio know Bogota very well and they could give a better assessment of the women there.

It's just like uc saying the women in Uruguay aren't that attractive.  Coming from and older gent what he says means very little to me since he and I would hang out at drastically different places in Uruguay.  I guarantee you if I go to Uruguay, Bogota, Ecuador, or whatever, I'm going to be around hot women.

You think I was hanging around nursing homes while I was there? Like you are going to go to some secret place in Uruguay where they are hiding all the hot women? Like I said, there are hot women there just as there are anywhere but it's not a place I would go for the women. What's so hard to understand about that? Watch, you will go there and go to a few clubs and you'll say, see I found some hot women in Uruguay. Sure you will but if you check out the women that you see in every day life in the malls, at the restaurants, on the street, you don't see the quantities of drop dead gorgeous women you would see in a few hours in Medellin. My wife calls me a miron for obvious reasons!

It's a matter of taste. You seem to like the taller whiter women. I like curvier darker women.  Of course there are attractive cachacas; for me Cali and Barranquilla were much better hunting grounds...

I spent some time in St Louis Missouri, talk about a place where it's hard to find hot chicks, and NO latinas like back home in TX.  I hated it at first but after a while I started meeting people and started meeting plenty of hot chicks.  So if I can find hot chicks in St Louis freaking Missouri I'm sure I can find some in Uruguay or  Bogota.  Hell I even found some hotties down in Del Rio Texas, they were all at the hotel lounge lol.

I think the main difference is the weather.  I'm sure the women in Bogota wear alot more clothing than the warmer climates of Cali and Barranquilla.  I've only spent a week in Cali and I loved it, but I really want to check out Barranquilla as well.  Barranquilla, Barrinquilla is calling me.  And I'm already in Colombia so a flight should be pretty cheap.  Thanks MC for making me realize I need to check out Barranquilla.

I didn't come just for women. Actually I came becasue it was only like 100usd to add to my trip to Ecuador, so i said why the hell not. Of course I gave it the college try. I tried to talk to a few girls but the one really hot one I wanted to dance w/ denyed me the chance. It was probably my own fault though, I didn't dress down or anything like that when I went out. But phuckit, I really don't care that much. besides, some dudes can't even talk to one chick with out an aide a way-in, or some sort of outside help. lol, I'm not screaming 'back to square one'.  ;) . I'm just going to keep it pushing

That's my whole point. Yes, even in a place with few hot women, you can still find a few - and I would not put Del Rio in that category. I've spent a lot of time in Del Rio and it's almost completely Latino with a fair number of Latina beauties.

So can you find a few hot women in Bogota or Uruguay? Yes you can. Go there for the women? Definitely not when there are other places where you can see more hot chicks in 10 minutes in any mall than you can in two weeks in Bogota. I mean why? Just to prove that yes you can find a hot chick in Dubuque, Iowa? It seems like a pointless undertaking to me.

I bet if I posted that I had made a trip to Baffin Island in Nunavut, Canada and I thought the Eskimo women were not worth making a trip for, Awesome would be out there planning a trip just to prove he could find a hot Eskimo babe.

Yeah...that's what I was saying earlier. It's really all about taste. Don't get me wrong...THERE ARE TONS OF HOT WOMEN IN BOGOTA!!! I've said that dozens of times here. They're just not my speed. Also, the city is so damn huge and spread out there's no one place I could tell a guy to go and see the best talent it has. Any given shopping mall I guess. The clubs there always have some really nice looking girls during the weekend but they're all with groups that usually include guys. Almost impossible to break into that situation unless you get lucky and make friends with one of them. I remember buying a guy a shot in Bogota because he came into a bar with so many hot women and I was trying to make friendly. Still didn't work! We talked for a half a minute and he went right back over to his goddess filled booth without me. >:( >:( >:( >:(

Either way...In Bogota I've just never seen the "every other chick that passes" action I've seen in other Colombian cities. Cali especially. I don't like the way fake asses feel, but when a really pretty girl has the long hair working, the big fake boobs, the liposuctioned stomach and waist and that huge bubble backside...MAN!!! It sure is fun to look at!!!! I saw dozens of girls like that in Cali everyday I was there.

The siliconistas are trying to look like the real thing...yesterday in La Catorce in Pereira I did see the real thing, and man was she a knockout. Everywhere she went in the store both men and women were ogling her. I just had to stop what I was doing and admire her for a few minutes. She saw me staring and smiled as she walked on by. Obviously she was enjoying the attention as much I was enjoying the view.

That's another thing I love about Latin America. Here in the states a beautiful woman with a great body will wear a really sexy outfit then get pissed when you stare like you're some sort of creeper. As if she didn't wear it just so men would look. As if there's any other reason to wear clothes that reveal cleavage besides drawing attention to it! WTF?!! Down south the girls eat all that attention up (as long as you're respectful). I remember sitting at a food court in Rio and an absolute goddess came walking out of the bathroom near my table. I mean the type of woman dreams are made of. Absolute work of f#cking art. The greatest painters and sculptors in history couldn't have even imagined creating a masterpiece of this magnitude. The second I saw her she did the whip back thing with her neck to throw her hair back over her shoulders and I thought to myself, "WOW!" Amazingly, without even realizing it, I also said it out loud at the same time. She looked back at me and gave me a huge smile. Almost melted in my chair. DAMNIT I GOTTA GET BACK DOWN THERE!!!  ;D ;D ;D ;D

DAMNIT I GOTTA GET BACK DOWN THERE!!!  ;D ;D ;D ;D

That's because the game is all twisted. The women do do it for the attention, just not YOUR attention. Its only for men with a C in there position title. Not for minions like you and I

I'm in Medellin right now.  You already know how it is here and I've already gotten used to it, it's no big deal to me anymore.  I don't need to be surrounded by gorgeous women everywhere I go.  As long as I find  few here and there I'm good.  MC made a good point earlier, my preferred type is the european looking latinas of Uruguay and Argentina.  There are girls like that here in Medellin but they're not as common, and they're not as easy to get close to.  But that's fine with me, I don't mind a challenge.

I still feel like there's no way you can tell me that if I go to the hot spot discotecas, or college campus in Montevideo I'm not going to see multitudes of beautiful Uruguayan chicks.  Or even a shopping mall, I have no doubt I'd find plenty of beauties.

The clubs there always have some really nice looking girls during the weekend but they're all with groups that usually include guys. Almost impossible to break into that situation unless you get lucky and make friends with one of them.

I keep hearing this "they're all in groups bla bla bla" on the internet when people talk about going out in Colombia.  That hasn't been my experience at all in Colombia.  I never have any problem mingling with whoever I want to mingle with, whether there are guys in the group or not.

Another thing I noticed is if I'm with a group of Colombians at a nightclub or bar they usually end up mingling with the other groups there anyway, so I'm automatically in the door.  I get shown so much love here in Colombia I know I could go out clubbing and not bring a single peso with me and I'll still get drunk and have a blast.  Any time I go out Colombians ending up feeding me alcohol and inviting me to hang out with them.

I don't know where all this "groups are hard to break into" crap comes from.  It's got to be some dorky gringo who went to a bar and nobody wanted to talk to him so he goes home and types on his computer about "groups in Colombia bla bla bla".  Pretty loserish if you ask me.

Exactly! I'll pull more hot chicks in Baffin Island than most losers can pull in Colombia.  And guys who are worried about what kinds of women are walking around shopping malls or walking down the street are mostly just creepers anyway.  They just want to sit around and "people watch", they have no game.  If I go to Uruguay or Baffin Island I'm not going to creep out on women walking around a shopping mall, I'm going to go where the hot chicks hang out at.

Welp...perhaps you're underestimaing your own player status/social skills and expecting us all to automatically be on your level. I gotta be honest...I would never assume I could go to a Colombian club with no money and depend on other people to get me hammered. That's pretty impressive. I've broken into several groups in clubs successfully and made some damn good friends in the process. I've posted extensively about those experiences. It just hasn't happened much in Bogota. I thought that's the city we were talking about here. Bigger city, colder less trustworthy people...just my honest opinion. Things have always gone much better for me along the coast and in The Coffee Triangle. I will be returning to Colombia the rest of my life but the only time I've spent in Bogota was for work and layovers.
