The 5 C's
« on: July 28, 2006, 10:22:21 AM »
Came across this article on MSN.ca and though I've known alot of these things for the longest time and they are repeated in articles often, I thought I would post it here so some men can see what it takes to pick up any woman.

Article:

Confident

I can't emphasize enough the importance of confidence in a bar setting. This doesn't mean puffing your chest out and swaggering like you're about to have a showdown in a Western – arrogance is as attractive as a unibrow. Women always have and always will be sensitive to men who can carry themselves with an air that exudes a sureness in themselves, and whether you're faking it or not, it needs to be there – it's your foot in the door.

A man that can approach a woman without coming across as a creep is rare, but certainly not hard.

Comedic

This is an ability that's purely either/or. Either you're funny or you're not, and as cliché as it sounds, a man's sense of humor is one of the first things a woman will notice, once in conversation.

Making a woman laugh is one of a man's most endearing qualities and if you are one of the unfortunate men who isn't blessed with a natural sense of humor, scour high and low to find one!

Casual

This is a bit of a tricky one that ties into number two. A sense of humor is important to a lot of women, but at all costs you don't want to look like you're trying too hard. Most women want a man who's clearly interested, but not a doormat.

While it's true that there are enough women that want a man dressed to the nines who is ready to worship the ground they walk on, I personally don't have time for women like that and neither should you. Though it's a nice gesture, a man shouldn't have to break the bank at a nightspot to convince a woman he's worth it. So remember, keep it low key.

Also, never, ever buy a woman a drink before talking to her for five minutes – many women find it a creepy and transparent effort to get into bed with them.

Complimentary

Compliments are another key element to succeeding when meeting women, but you must adhere to the third C when doing so. Despite how gorgeous you may find a woman, it's a pretty safe bet they don't agree. Many stunning women don't think they're as pretty as they actually are and I don't know a woman who doesn't like to be complimented.

A caveat thought: be truthful, stay casual, and stay very, very far away from cheese. If a woman has a fantastic body, don't go out of your way to say that you like her average eyes or hair – compliment the dress that's covering that work of art! Also, whatever you do, don't ever try to be poetic. Ever.

Current

The last key deals with style. It's far from necessary to be up to date with the latest trends, but any woman will tell you they want a man who can put himself together in some sort of coherent way.

Whether it's the tuxedo t-shirt or a Prada suit, make sure you stand out, but in a positive way. I see far too many guys at the bar dressed in black slacks and a collared shirt with a fancy print. Be an individual.

Interesting article but on one point I'll disagree. What I have found (in the US) is that many non overwieght, fair to good looking women actually think they a far better looking than they really are, and far more valuable than they really are. They seem to develop The Entitlement Syndrome in their mind that convinces them that anything just barely below a Donald Trump is far below what they deserve to date. It's nice to have goals or dreams of upward mobility, but taken as an entitlement or to an extreme and it gets sickening.

You'll find this true even SOTB also if you're not careful.

Agreed, especially with the fair to good looking category, but with the model types, the 5C rule is right on.

I know for a fact, because I'm no stud and yet every woman I've dated for periods longer than a month was great looking.  People used to joke that I must be filthy rich or have a huge schlong.  Unfortunately, I don't consider myself rich yet, and as for the schlong, well, let's just say, I live in a Jewish community so I don't feel threatend about my size, haha.

Yeah, north of the border too, I see your just thrilled with the fare up there. Weak characters with control issues cant handle a woman with a little independence. Put your broad strokin paint brush away canuck your stereotypes are showing...again

American woman, stay away from me
American woman, mama let me be
Don't come hare hanging around my door
I don't want to see your face no more
I got more important things to do
Than spend my time growin' old with you
Now woman, I said stay away
American woman, listen what I say

American woman, get away from me
American woman, mama let me be
Don't come here knocking around my door
Don't want to see your shadow no more
Colored lights can hypnotize
Sparkle someone else's eyes
Now woman, I said get away
American woman, listen what I say

American woman, I said get way
American woman, listen what I say
Don't come here hanging around my door
Don't want to see your face no more
I don't need your war machines
I don't need your ghetto scenes
Colored lights can hypnotize
Sparkle someone else's eyes
Now woman, get away from me
American woman, mama let me be

Go, gotta get away, gotta get away, now go go go
I'm gonna leave you, woman
Gotta leave you, woman
Bye bye, bye bye
Bye bye, bye bye
You're no good for me
I'm no good for you
Gonna look at you right in the eye
Tell you what I'm gonna do
You know I'm gonna leave
You know I'm gonna go
You know I'm gonna leave
You know I'm gonna go, woman
I'm gonna leave you, woman
Goodbye, American woman
Goodbye American chick

Whatever you've been smoking, next time bring enough for everyone.

Your post makes no sense and is off-topic, as well as subliminally insulting.

Again I commend your insight FLIP. As to subliminal, Monte read the definition. I think the post was direct and clear,  but then maybe I am reading Flip incorrectly again  "weak character with control issues" is pretty succinct to me. I have been on vacation serving tuna elsewhere. Flip,do you want the job of *Honorary Shrink to Marine Mamals* you are definately qualified. Hooker

Ps Monte I think most issues are subliminal for you "you just don't know, that you dont know."

I'm new to this "board" stuff... but can't we just have a civil discussion?
