One thing I found interesting on this site was that lady that published the book about Colombian Women marrying foreigners - the one that guy I forget his name - was so down on her cuz she was a "Womens's Studie" major or something.. She interviewed a lot of these women who had American Boyfreinds, and where supposedly getting a greencard and marrying the guys, and most of them admitted that they didn't love the guy...

Yes, Felicity was always very respectful, polite, and could provide some valuable insight into the international marriage scene and provide another Latina point of view.
 
She has done academic research on the topic, including some members of Planet-Love. I believe she even interviewed Pete E. in Colombia(?)

How many guys over the years have posted their plans to take one or two weeks off work and come back engaged? That is just one of an endless number of reasons that red flags can be missed, but there is just this mentality out there that is not healthy.
 

The funniest part of your complaint (about other guys) is that you acted big/important like you were going to take your sweet time…and what did you do?  You went and committed and married a lady (whose language you don’t even speak) VERY quickly just like you complain that other 'desperate' guys do…wouldn't that have made you a desperate hypocrite of the highest order?

Visa journey has some good info on the paperwork side of this path if you need to research and talk about the paperwork and processing side of things more. The MOB term seems to generate clicks so unfortunately I wouldn't expect anything to change.

I am fairly active on that site, it has been very helpful. My wife has been here a couple of years, we just filed for ROC  in September.

Well congrats. The internet tends to roll to the extreme. You have MOB forums for the older guys. You have ROK for the younger guys where they actually try to ban all women and gays from posting comments. And then you have the feminists on the other end denying basic biology.

And then you just have contrarians that need to create controversy.  Such as someone that pointed out that I am just a basic Spanish speaker. The hilarity being that my wife was fluent in English. 

Everyone is going to have their own ideal part of Latin America or the world to travel to... I never found a perfect locale myself but there are some great dating spots in Latin America for sure. It'd be nice if there was a one stop website for it all... but that's not the case unfortunately.

Feminist studies professors are bad news. Had you put in a little more thought you might have considered that the OP was interested in hearing from foreign women and AW looking abroad and not from the industry interested in shutting down international courtship.

I'm with him on the AW and British women going overseas. If the brits are getting it on in the DR and the AW in Jamaica rather than lobby congress for more laws against men going overseas... then I am all for it.  Take all those cats to the kennel and plan that vacation.

i've kinda been off in thought these past few days. i've got a pretty awesome low key girlfriend. i've never felt any pressure from her but i'm sure she has from some of her friends and her mother.i've been thinking of starting the lllooonnnnggg K1 process believe it or not. this is really the first time i've ever seriously considered getting hitched. with my AW g/fs i was always thinking i'd rather just shoot myself. anyways i've been looking at rings and am likely to book a weekend trip in the near future (who knows maybe even for this weekend).my parents are pretty shocked... not about her location... about the me getting engaged part. again they too assumed i'd rather just shoot myself. if i do it they said they even want to fly down and meet her. i just really can't imagine them in honduras. will be some serious culture... living conditions shock for them. so yea i think i'm really going to do it.

What is really a crack up is the fact that you harshly criticize people about moving too fast yet you were probably thinking marriage after you met her once...according to your prior posts on the subject she skyped you 1 time and you bought the plane ticket within about 3 days...so it is entirely reasonable to assume your behavior pattern continued.

Awesome...just curious. What negative things have you heard about Hondureñas? I've spent time in Honduras and although it's not filled with super hot, educated available chicas those I did meet seemed to be pretty nice and good women.

I've personally known a few who are chronic liars.  They are about as hot-blooded and horny as women can get.  Moreso than the colombianas I've known.  If a guy with alpha male personality traits is in the same room with a hondureña she will be all over the guy.  They have little to no shame.  The two hondureñas I've had semi-serious relationships with were extremely affectionate but I had to keep a close eye on them if you know what I mean.  One of them literally ditched the guy she was on a date with to hook up with me the night we first met.  I mean literally right in front of the guy's face.  I could go on and on about my experiences with hondureñas compared to other latinas.

In another thread bcc basically said he didn't marry a colombiana because the only thing they're good for is sex.  Well if you want to play the stereotype game, honduras is the absolute last country om earth where I'd go to look for a loyal loving wife.


And don't get me started on honduran men.  Shameless dogs is all I can say, but they make good soccer players.

Another thing worth mentioning is why is honduras so violent and dangerous?  At least mexico and colombia can blame their violence on the billion dollar drug wars.  What the hell are the hondurans killing over?  Could it be they just have a f*cked up savage culture?

Yes, I've heard and seen some of the same things Awesome with Hondureños y Hondureñas in general when I lived in Barcelona.  Caveat Emptor!

On another note, this site used to be much more active and have many useful conversations.  There still are some valuable topics discussed, just greatly diminished and more petty cat fights going on.  This thread being a prime example of someones negativity and "know it all" attitude bringing the quality of the site down.  It's no wonder women, let alone a  lot of men, don't want to post here. 

The purpose of this site is to hear the opinions and experiences of others.  It is important to be open and at the very least polite to other posters here. Even those who's opinions you do not agree with.  No doubt we would all benefit from a more friendly and open environment.

 I myself enjoy reading posts from all parties involved here.  With the exception of those few (more specifically one) who put it upon themselves to "argue" instead of "discussing" the issues involved.  It appers to be almost with an aire of "everyone is attacking me and my viewpoint."  I think a nice slice of humble pie should be in order.

I believe you 100%.  I know some hondureñas who I have the utmost respect for and would make great wives.  But bcc was the one who started the stereotype game and that's a game he's going to lose 10 out of 10 times comparing honduras to colombia.

Bcc has always had an inflated sense of self-worth, which is silly but not that big a deal....but the problem for him now is that the rest of us 'losers' have beautiful young wives so that throws his sense of self importance outta whack  .  He angrily realizes that if he were so great, that would mean that he would have a 'better' wife than the rest of us old farts and losers...so in an effort to elevate himself into his 'proper' omnipotent self-image, he makes efforts to take shots at other people's relationships... he declares that coastal Colombian women are no good...then he declares agency women suck...then he declares educated women are better...then of course he also insists that American women are all 'feminists' and fat....the important thing to him is that he stands out as being slightly better, to fulfill his inflated self-image and importance...(narcissism)

I could point out dozens of examples of his behavior on almost every topic he comments on, but that would make this post more like a book!

Until he learns to show a little respect to his fellow man, he will be destined to catch crap from every direction, and he does not like that at all.
