It really rots that the media made almost nothing--it was basically unheard, that Zimmerman is a 'minority' as well, being a Hispanic.

Same kind of rot that went along with posting a baby faced picture of Trevon Martin--a picture taken many years before--basically making Zimmerman out to be a child killer.

Where I live, there is increasing unrest among Hispanics/Latinos that they're being 'lumped in' with whites and one way or another, being denied jobs, including even  civil service opportunities.

That hits home here, because for my Grandparents, the first real break they got was through civil service jobs. First they voted, they joined the military, kept their nose clean and after a while (w/o pissing and moaning) they got ahead, despite very blatant prejudice still existing.

I know a Hispanic cop who says that working under our current city manager makes Hispanics "The new white meat"--to be denied or chewed up and spit out.

Sometimes if another ethnic group comes in, such as Hispanics or Asians, and gets ahead, all of a sudden those who haven't claim it's an unfair situation. In a lot of  slums, there's a lot of resentment against foreigners who open up shops, unless it's for cheap Chinese food.

Trayvon was a minor and the prosecutors played with the idea of  also charging Zimmerman with child abuse charges for a while and them decided against it in the end.

Not exactly. The prosecutors asked for the jury to be able to consider the charge of "child" abuse. It was so ridiculous that even biased Judge Nelson rejected the idea. This trial was brought about in order to satisfy the race baiters. It is hilarious that they didn't get the verdict they wanted.

Providing technical assistance to the City of Sanford, event organizers, and law enforcement agencies for the march and rally on March 3 isn't exactly what I would call helping organize protests. jajaja

Let's just be glad that they had some success in keeping them as peaceful as possible.

err umm...that is exactly what it is:helping organize protests. Catering to the race baiters isn't the way to handle this type of situation. No citizen should be subjected to the kind of hate that is based on lies like Zimmerman was. The SPD and DA deciding not to file charges while they were still investigating the situation was the correct decision.

I'm not a fan of the DOJ so I would be skeptical of anything they do. Too many scandals on their part. When Obama'sterm is up it will be good riddance to Eric Holder.

You are correct. Once Zimmerman was pegged as being white that was kept as part of the false narrative that was created to keep this story in the headlines. After debating several people on this case I have seen a large amount of willful ignorance toward the true facts of the case. The "Martin family attorney" made a huge effort to get this story in the national headlines and keep it there. Once it turned political he had the leverage he needed to go for big money. The insurance company settled before the trial had even started and the State of Florida was doing everything it could to appease the race baiters.

The media spin around this case was just one lie after another. Even members of congress were piling on and stuck to the lies until the end. It really is sad that people allowed this kind of dishonesty to continue because it damages and discredits the legitimate cause for racial equality.
