Question about CDT accounts in Colombia

I understand that a CDT bank account is a fixed term deposit account in Colombia.
Can anyone tell me if it is possible for the account holder to withdraw the money prior to the end of the term?
Obviously they could only withdraw the principle and would loose the interest but can a CDT account be clseod early or must it be kept for the agreed term, e.g. 3 months.?

Can not really help you there,  I don't even know what a CDT is,  guessing a certificate of deposit(?).  I do know you have to have a cedula to open an account here.  I did a transfer when I bought my apto and the banking paperwork is a real pain in the @#$@5^^.  Since the anti laundering laws here are fairly strict,  the banks can be pretty uptight.  I am sure that was a big help.

I think it is banking short hand for: certificado de deposito por un termino de tiempo.
