Peru is worth checking out!

Hey Everyone!
 
I will type up a 2 trip reports later, but just to catch up: 
*The 27 year-old chica from Barranquilla that I met in Panama City in early May was a no-go. Explain later in trip report.
 
*I started talking with a 32 year-old from Lima 3 weeks ago. Last week, I flew to Lima and spent the week with her in Lima and Cuzco. Amazing trip! More to follow in trip report.
 
But what I want to let everyone know is that Peru has some very attractive women. I stayed in the Miraflores area of Lima and there are a lot of attractive women frequently out walking/jogging/biking or at the grocery store. In my experience on LAC, the number of women (as well as number of attractive women) from Colombia outnumber the number of women from Peru. I am thinking that women from Peru might not be as interested in internet dating or trying to get the hell out of their country as women from Colombia. So, if anyone has been thinking about Peru as an option, I would give it a thumbs up. The attractive women are there. Also, Lima (the areas that I visited) and Cuzco felt very safe and there are many awesome tourist attractions to check out.
 
Oh, and one more thing...  if you are a shorter guy, Peru might be for you. I am 5'11" and was much taller than most Peruvian guys.

i did a trip reoprt on lima a long time ago, i had a god time, met many nice and cute ladies from lima and none were as bad as the colombianas. guys go to colombia because the women are hot and easy, which sometimes is a bad thing if your planing on bringing her back some day.

I was at one of my manufacturer's I represent factory this week and the distribution group from Peru was there. I met one of the most sexy women I have ever met in my life bar none. She is from Lima, lives in Lima and is 38 and let me tell you, BAMBAMBAM, not going to be too many hotter. She was all of 5"2 and 100 pounds of HOTTIE ! If I were not married , I would be hitting up Lima for sure.

Peru is the road less traveled by most guys looking for a wife which is why I liked it compared to Cali and Bogota back in 2002 and 2003.
The majority of guys here who have posted over the years and have married a Peruvian are still going strong..including myself!!

I do know that this site could do a better job keeping their database up to date.

At this point, I am probably too lazy to type up a trip report, but I have myself a Peruvian princess for a girlfriend. She's attractive, funny, smart and I love to watch her walk! Not sure if all women from Peru are like this, but she has a cool, laid-back confidence to her that I really like.  Planning on seeing her again in September and very excited about it!!

Glad to hear that things are going great with your lady from Peru.
IMO treating a lady you just met on your first trip to Cuzco and Machu Picchu is no small expense!!! Close to 2k for the both of you?
At least for me, I would wait to do a trip like that probably a future trip down to see her..which is what I did with my wife.
 
Everyone is different with different situations

What was important for me was not to spend a lot of money on  women I meet on a first trip to South America. It can attract the wrong type of women who are not really into you but more into a lifestyle you have provided them right away.

I am not telling you that this is your case with your lovely lady. I am only sharing this with you from experiences dating women from South America as well as from other men who have concurred.

I understand where you're coming from...   but that part of the trip was worth it to me and like I said, she paid for some things on the trip.

I have a theory and I could be totally wrong, but I think that the bigger the age gap between the 2 people, the more LIKELY it is to be about money/better life. She and I have only 5 years age difference and I feel very comfortable with her on this subject (opposed to the 27 y-o from Barranquilla who showed that she had some issues with handling finances, but that's another story...).
  *Disclaimer: I am not saying that a woman is just out for your money if there is a large age difference, but the risk is greater. Don't mean to offend anyone.

One can meet a lot of women in Lima with just LAC (Latin American Cupid) using their search engine.  Limit your search to Lima with whatever other parameters you have and tell the women when you'll be in town.  I went to Lima with an unlocked cell phone and purchased a SIM card at one of the many Movistar outlets.  Not expensive at all.  Set up my own dates and avoided paying the ransom that the agencies charge.
Of course I had taken the time to learn the language before the trip.

Glad to hear that it worked  out with the woman you went to meet, but going and meeting just one seems quite a risk.  If it hadn't, the trip to Machu Picchu alone would have been well worth it

General question for the guys that have been to Lima.  How approachable are these women in public?  Let's say you go down to Lima and meet a few on LAC. And you don't connect with any of them. How open are the gals in Mira Flores or other parts of Lima to gringos appraoching them and asking for dates?  And is the nightlife scene like it is in Colombia, people go out in groups so it is hard to just approach a woman at a bar/club?

In regards to picking women up in Miraflores area of Lima where most guys and tourist end up, I cannot comment because I had about eight dates lined up before my plane even landed in Lima Peru the first time but I am sure it's possible.

All my dates were contacts that I made through my $50 membership at Matchingsys.com

For the 45 day membership, they will send you two email and phone contacts a day. This is how I met my wife. I wrote to about 14 women over a two week period. About 8 responded back. I met all of them during my first five days in Lima. My third date was the woman I married.

This is my recomendation to you or anyone considering Lima Peru.
First, go through their database of women (that is free) and see how many you find attractive.

If you find several women you like to meet, spend the small amount of $50 on a 45 day correspondence membership.  Or you could spend as little as $25 on a two week membership.  The agency will send you two contacts a day.

Make sure you tell the women that you are planning to be in Lima in the next month.( if this is really the case) They are more motivated to make contact with guys that are actually coming there soon.

If everything goes well, you will have several women lined up to meet when you arrive in Lima, Peru.

Use other sites as well like Cherryblossoms and LAC to correspond with women and meet on your trip.

 I can't really answer those questions because I had my girl with me pretty much 24/7 (basically a 168 hour date). I did try to sneak a peek at the ring hand if a woman was attractive and most didn't have a ring. The people in Lima are generally very gringo friendly, so I would surmise that you could approach them on the street, but I agree with Chris F's recommendation of meeting some girls online and arranging something ahead of time.
 
As for nightlife in Lima, I don't know much about that either. I was in Cuzco for 3 nights and 3 out of the 4 nights in Lima I was hanging with her and her family. I will say this, if you want to meet women on the street in Miraflores, take your running shoes and go to the park on the cliffs near the shore. People are physically active in that area of town. Also, on the weekends, they have a lot of stuff going on in some of the plazas (art showings, music, food, etc), so there are a lot of people walking around. There is another cool neighborhood called Barranco that is worth checking out. It is the 'Bohemian' area of Lima. Lots of cool restaurants and bars in old houses and buildings that have been renovated.  Miraflores and Barranco are safe areas and you will see some tourists from various countries there (basically saying that you won't stick out too much as a robbery target).
 
Another thing that I would tell anyone going to Peru, try to stay for at least 10 days or more. I only had 7 days unfortunately. While you are there, go to Cuzco and Machu Picchu.  The history, architecture and beauty of the mountains are amazing. Definitely worth checking out.

I have been all around Puno, Cuzco, Machu Pichu, lots of places in between and stayed in Lima a few days.
I still can't answer your questions because I was with my girl - not searching for one.
I suspect that it is going to be much easier to arrange to meet women online than to approach them.
In Mira Flores, you could approach women in the open area at the mall or on the grass area at the top of the clifs. I just don't know how sucessful that would be. How does a wealthy Peruvian woman feel about being approached by a tourist? Not sure.
In the center of the city, you could try the lost and lonely gringo routine. I could see that working and there are a lot of women around. There is a street near the main plaza with lots of cafes but I don't remeber the name. It doesn't really matter. There are lots of places in that area. Find the tourist information center if you want more ideas. From memory I think it is on Pasaje Santa Rosa near Plaza de Aramas at street level. It is near there anyway. There are lots of little touristy things you can do, rather than just coffee as well. Like take her picture under the fountain at Plaza Peru.
I am no expert but Peruvian culture seems a little conservative. Even in Lima.
The people are friendly and helpful though so as long as you are polite and respectful it could work.

If it was me I'd focus on arranging dates online. Remeber that if you are short on dates you can still go online when you are there and say hey I'm here now, let's have a coffee and see if we have a connection.

I am glad you liked Peru. It is a great country with plenty of attractive women (despite what many people on this board seem to think).

Is Peru safe? Tourist areas (Miraflores, Cuzco, etc.) are quite safe. Once you leave those it is quite a different story, but with precautions you will be fine and I don't think it is worse than Colombia.

Peruvian women LOVE gringos, especially those with ojos azules (blue eyes) and blond hair. And yeah Peru is great for shorter guys. Peruvians are very short and even if you are just average height or even less in the US or Europe you will be considered tall there.

Peruvian women are very approachable. They are not afraid to talk to strangers and ADORE gringos. Yes, Peruvians tend to go out in groups too, but if you are a decent looking gringo women will still flirt with you/stare/smile. I love Peruvian nightlife myself.
