Good online dating site??

Is there any good online dating sites or social networks that are popular in south america? For example, Plenty of Fish is a huge free site here in the U.S. then of course there is match.com, eharmony, cupid.com (free) and a few other ones.


I now about the paid columbiancupid.com and latinamericancupid.com. I'm also on amigos.com, but i just don't know if i trust these online pay sites. They look like they're scam sites with fake profiles. But thats just the impression i get. I haven't actually paid any money for them yet.


I also, in the past, was on sexyono.com ( sexy o no).


I know online is not always the best place to meet girls, or like BG said, the best girls won't always be online. But i think it is a great jumping off point to get your feet wet.

Orkut was(still is?) pretty big in Brazil.


LAC and CC are legit, in that there are definitely a lot of actual women on there. LAC is good if you are looking for Central America and South America (Not Brazil, not Mexico{OK, that is North America}).


LAC is mostly, from my experience, Colombia(majority), Peru, Guatemala, and Honduras. There are women from other countries, but they are MUCH fewer in number. Colombia dwarfs all other countries by number of women active on LAC.


That said, scammers are either on the rise or reportedly on the rise. So, the usual rules about no money sending and getting the chick on Skype are doubly in force.

You might consider a few of the 'tools' available to help you with your selection. Start with a list of the agencies - something you can easily find at our sister site at Goodwife.com (agency lists here -- http://www.goodwife.com/links/directory/). Next step would be to vett the agency. A good starting point would be to use the tool developed at our other sister site, RWD, for getting some sense of the agency's integrity (Agency ScamCard found here -- http://www.russianwomendiscussion.com/index.php?action=ezportal;sa=page;p=3). Finally, take a good look at the Agency Code of Ethics (found here -- http://www.russianwomendiscussion.com/index.php?action=ezportal;sa=page;p=1) -- consider asking the agency you wish to conduct business with if they subscribe to the ACoE - and if not, why not - specifically.

While there is no guarantee, of course - these tools along with a bit of common sense will carry you a long way in identifying an honest agency.

There is also BrazilCupid! I've see some Plenty of Fish ads saying that Brazil is the only country in it that has more women than men.

I agree. Even if I haven't find anyone so far, talking to American men online helped learn a lot of things. It's a good start point. Just be careful and don't fall in love before you meet in person.

In my mind, from these unknown sites, every "chick" is a fake until i can actually see the person on Skype or Facebook. Definitely would not send money ever without first even meeting someone in real life. (red flag) sends the wrong message. That sad thing is you actually have to mention that because people actually do this!

Dude, even then you can't be sure.  Seriously, our sense of what is feminine and womanly has become so deadened in the Western world, guys are easily taken in by foreign "ladyboys" who make the average western woman seem like butch drag queens in comparison.  You never know until you "know" know.

Sad but true. Actually a lot of American men might be better off with a Thai or Philippine ladyboy than a real American woman. "She" would definitely be a lot hotter.

Regarding the original post I met my wife on amigos back when it was a better deal than it is now.

haha that is too funny. My intention for the word fake was more directed at being a scam in some sense. I was not implying fake, as in not really a woman. But you make a great point about the ladyboys. i have never seen it personally but have heard from my buddies who have traveled to thailand.

It's a crap shoot dude. It's like fishing on a lake you've never been to without a guide. You can cast around trees growing in the water, use the best bait, but until you throw your line out there you just don't know what will happen.
 
I've used Latin American Cupid, Colombian Cupid, Brazilian Cupid and Dominican Cupid amongst others. I've never seriously dated a girl from Brazilian Cupid or Dominican Cupid but I've conversed with enough of them on the phone to give me the impression they were who they said they were. But I still ask myself, "Who the [snip] knows?!" until they are standing in front of me at an airport.
 
A lot of guys would swear off LatinEuro in a second but I've met some legit girls from there. The only messed up thing is their business model. You pretty much buy the contact information of a girl and accept the gamble of whether or not it's accurate, current and the woman is who she says she is if so. I'll be honest though...early last year I bought the contact information of a girl that lived in Neiva, Colombia off LatinEuro. Her phone number was included but I will always write first to test the waters. Some of the girls on LatinEuro are married and have been for years, but the site owners are very slow to update their database. Absolutely beautiful girl, I just had to try. She responded to my email the same day I sent it and seemed very enthusiastic about communicating with me. We begin calling each other on a pretty regular basis, but decided to leave the "novios" thing alone until we actually met in person.
 
I made a point to contact a few more girls from Neiva before actually going so if it didn't work out I wouldn't be sitting there bored for days. But when I arrived I found everything was exactly how she described it in her emails and over the phone. She had two jobs working for the public services department of the Department of Huila and as a Psychology Professor at the Universidad de Sur Colombia. She was 28, ex-beauty queen (much more attractive in person), had her own apartment, made very good money for a single Colombiana. I was pleasantly surprised.
 
All this from a site most guys would tell you is complete BS, full of prostitutes and prepagos, etc. So like I said, there's no cookie cutter site where you can guarantee everything is legit beforehand. You just have to roll the dice.
