I think I have a  pretty good rep in Cali......I do know a couple of guys that live in Medellin and they say that I should give it a try before deciding to live permanently in Cali.


I already know the city itself is much nicer than Cali.....it's just the women I have had a problem with there.....the ones I have met were a bunch of interesadas and I think if I just stay away from the gringo crowd I might do just fine.


As my friends point out....I could always import a calena to come live with me in Medellin....which is a posibility.....could never imagine anyone getting a Paisa to move to Cali to live with them.....the ones that I met are just too interested in getting what they want to bother worrying about what you might want. jajaja

Well Calipro this is a genuine problem then.  Obviously you know how to meet the ladies, but why is it that they are all turning so greedy and inconsiderate with you?  Maybe you have pretty much 'aged out' when it comes to red hot 19 year olds, that are actually going to care about you.  Since you have indicated your goals are a little different now, then perhaps they were a few years ago, it would seem to me that you should up the age range a little bit.  Ladies in their late 20's or early 30's are attractive also and if you were to move up your age bracket I think you would be able to meet your future family goals.

Thanks for the advice gentlemen.  Girls that travel to Panama frequently were mentioned as girls to be weary of, I thought ladies of the night all went to Costa Rica to be more specific San Jose, to earn their money.

Well if the only thing I had to do was date women from Medellin in their late twenties compared to early twenties that would be an easy fix because women in Medellin definitely stay thinner longer than the women in Cali. But I'm afraid it isn't going to be that easy.


This is what I know about Paisas based on my own personal experiences with them.......I get laid about half as much in Medellin as I do in Cali (in any given time frame) simply because they take about twice as long to decide if they are going to get intimate with you.......I do not think they are more virtuous but rather more calculating then the average Calena.......and I could deal with that.......but what I don't like is that after you get these paisas in a relationship.... they bail out about twice as fast as the average calena.....the ones I have dated simply have a lot higher expectations about what you are going to be bringing into the relationship and I think that is do mostly to the contact they have had with other gringos they know.....I simply don't have the money to throw around like a lot of the guys that visit Medellin and I know gringos that live with their girlfriends in Medellin that probably spend four or five times as much money on their live in girlfriends as I do on mine in Cali....so a lot of these chicks have just priced themselves right out of the market for me.


So my main goal will be to get away from the gringo crowd as much as humanly possible and to meet women that have never met a gringo or even have had a girlfriend that has dated a gringo. If I can find women that have similar expectations about  relationships as the ones in Cali then I will rent an apartment there and give Medellin even more of go.....if not..... I'm out of there.......either way I'll never have to wonder what if.


I know guys in Medellin that just love it and they have incredibly hot women after them....but they also spend 10 times more money doing it than I do.

well, my friend who lives in med, couldnt find a" home style" wife and brought a lady from the philipines and now live in medellin and it worked great for him. they are happily married.

Well Calipro, if you feel it is important to avoid ladies that have already been seen by other gringos than you can always go to more isolated locations than Medellin.

 

All this talk about outspending other gringos seems out of place when you are talking about wife material.

 

If I ever felt that I was under obligation to start throwing bucks around, in order to make my wife (novia at the time) like me, I very likely would have moved on.

 

Regarding, the thing about ladies staying thin, I also want a woman that is going to be attractive to me, but  is it really THAT important in if you look down the road.   Try looking at it in these terms…If you find a nice and thin 30 year old lady and have a kid or two with her, she might get a little heavier, but in 10 15 years you are going to be in your mid 60’s (as painful as it is).  Do you really think you are going to care so much if your wife has gained 15-20 pounds.  Hopefully not, but you might have a stroke, liver disease, or a heart attack by then. It would seem to me that if she is loving, a good mother, and able bodied, than you should feel you scored big!  Granted you were not born a rich Arab Shiek, with 15 wives in their 20’s all at your beck and call and having your kids, but it seems to me you have done pretty well.  It just appears to me that you gotta open your mind a bit more about physical criteria and age, in order to get what you would like long term.

You make some good points FT but Calipro also has had similar results in Medellin as I have.  I'm not sure how much time you've spent in Mdellin or Cali FT.
 
I speak Spanish very well and have been traveling to Colombia for 15+ years.
 
I've had several GF's in Cali and IMHO the Caleñas are in general easier to meet, date and form relationships with.  I know several American men who have had long term relationships in Cali and seem very content.  The women just seem more genuine to me than Medellin, again I'm speaking in general terms based on my own experiences.
 
I have visited Medellin on several occasions and find the women (in general) and in different barrios including Rio Negro, Sabeneta, Itagui to be either interesadas, looking for gringos who are somewhat affluent or just plain disintested from the point of view of wanting a sincere and meaningful relationship. 
 
I know several American males who live in Medellin and I've stayed with some of them in their apartments.  I have met other guy's who live with their novia's and/or wives and most don't seem very content; of course it could be the guy's who are sometimes the problem.  Some of the women I've seen them with are not very attractive and these guy's are spending a lot of money on them seemingly because they are insecure, simply can't find anyone better or don't want to be alone.  These men live in Poblado, Envigado or other barrios but not all of the women are from those 2 areas.
 
Several of the men are married, honest to a fault about being miserable but equally afraid of losing their assets (after 2 years) if they divorce.
 
I do know one American there that has a very nice novia who learns English daily and doesn't care if she lives in Medellin or somewhere else.   These are my observations based on what I've seen or heard directly from those men and women involved in relationships.

Hi Pontiac...At this point, I was just offering food for thought, not trying to disparage in any way...I've never been to Medellin and don't plan on going there at this point.
