Levy may not have caught ANY crap here had he not tossed a small mound of caca himself, through his designated proxy poster.  I’m pretty sure he wanted a reaction, maybe to provide an excuse to recommence posting after his tearful vow to never be back.
I agree with 4-square with Bozo Ray, if levy had some unresolved feelings he needed to get off his chest, he could have chosen a different thread, rather than his marital announcement thread.
The marriage itself has not been mocked on this site and there has been NO unwarranted boorishness on this thread, as it relates to dennislevy.    Hopefully Levy can figure out how to be a reasonably good husband for his wife!

I think D.L. lost me when he sent emails out stating he would monitor the board for bad behavior and let the boss know. The last straw is having dinner with a clown that had a definite lack of morels when it came to money. I guess this saying pretty much sums it up " You can pick your friends but not your family"

HAHA, the vibe on this thread seems justified, but out of place.

Dennis should have started a new and clean thread where HE said he got married - in such a case, everyone would have been supportive and congratulatory (I think).  It would have reconciled much of his past - over dating, if you will (which has been a source of debate here).

I guess I wanted to through a little gas on the fire to rekindle the old love affairs from the participating posters with my "black girl" comment.    For the record, I have dated more than my share, and some were lovely, of course.  I have no negative opinion. I was stating facts, perhaps crudely?  But, that is nothing new to this place.   I particularly remember when a member described raising another man's son.   Decorum has never been a high mark here.

And, my Spanish sucks - but I enjoy it:)  And, that is all the matters for me

As far as I know, SFNM is still in Chiclayo, Peru and I got married in Medellin very recently.

I havent seen him since the end of January right before I left Chiclayo.  I formed my own personal opinion of SFNM.....and I never had any financial issues with him.

Never mind the naysayers--I think that if Dennis offered the whole world free cheese, some folks here would say "what about the crackers?".

Anyway, I think it's great that Dennis and his wife are finally happy and that a lot of us, myself included, can learn a thing or two from their experiences. Dennis has known his now wife for quite sometime and as relationships go, it's been interesting. Dennis and she were close before, but the lure of the road and adventure, and perhaps things he wanted to do and see before settling down, all kept him from promising his heart and single minded fidelity to her.

He didn't make excuses, demands or lead her on. He took for the road, but not before she told him "You will come back to me" and she was right. Her love never wavered for him and he never did get her out of his system.

It reminds me of a line from one of my favorite songs: "Return of the Grevious Angel": (Gram Parsons)

"And  I remember something you once told me--and I'll be damned if it did not come true---twenty thousand  roads, I went down, down, down--and they ALL lead me straight back home to you".

It's no secret to anyone who's been here a while that Dennis had "coffees" with many women from various parts of South America. There were women of various social classes, some very, very beautiful ladies and that includes of course some rather lovely and young women, from whom he could have chosen instead to settle down with.

Seems like most of us, myself included, tend to marry foreign women that by USA standards, are quite a bit younger than typical for our nation. Then we take them from their nation and culture and bring them back to the USA.

Dennis chose to pick what is probably the best match for himself and she's really not too far from his age either He wasn't looking for purely a babilicious beauty queen 'trophy wife' or a meal ticket. He not only clearly loves his wife, but he embraces her culture, family and they plan to find a place not too far from them. He's living the lifestyle right there, from the inside out, rather the outside in from a distance.

Dennis never struck me as a guy who wrote in a particularilly romantic fashion, but I thought it was touching when he explained to me that "When I think about  Colombian women there is everyone else and then there is 'her'......I might have to change that line a wee bit and sell it to Hallmark Cards!

Anyway, I think it's a great story, a romance, a travelogue, and extended road trip, all wrapped into one--with a happy ending. Plus, he's got Mickey and Andy Lee to hang with--Andy Lee sounds as happy as can be with his beautiful lady and her (their) extended family--they've been together for some time now as well. I for one,  miss Andy Lee and Dennis's first hand reports of life in South America. Maybe Andy Lee's too nice of a guy to deal with us here.

Some folks think Begin the Beguine is a fictional character and I think it's funny how Micky, Andy Lee and Dennis are in pretty regular contact with a fictional character! I predict that with their help he will, as Dennis said: "Get over the hump and onto the plane".

Anyhow, while it seems there's a bit of a 'fence' here on P-L, with people who either openly or quietly supported Dennis and then those who derided him, I for one think it's been interesting and will continue to be a great adventure for Dennis and his lady, albiet with a new chapter and I'm happy for Dennis and his wife!

well zon it seems like a bad idea to start calling individual wives or ladies in general from colombia 'black girls'...it just looks like a label aimed for sensationalism but no useful substance...maybe a pattern with you?   Since it always has seemed that in your case that you judgement (with the ladies) and your maturity have always prevented you from progressing very far with a woman, it could make sense that you start to shore up those aspects of your personality.  I'm not sure the Ukrainian ladies will react positively to all the ballyhoo either!

And, my Spanish sucks - but I enjoy it:)  And, that is all the matters for me

Really that is all that matters to you?  From an outsiders perspective it would appear you are fighting fiercely to stay remain ignorant...that is not the right attitude!

Is begin the beguine real? Might be who knows do I care? Not really to be honest with you I think he has nothing better to do but come here with some stories that no 61 year old man I know would do. He has no money but yet sends it to a woman that he has never met, calls her his chica, has caught her several times in situations that should have ended everything. Seems to think the internet is a replacement for a real romance.

I just been wondering if he is real how does he plan to bring her here? Money seems to be a problem the fees the government charge a lone can choke a horse, has to put her up in Bogota for the interview has to buy her the plane ticket but cannot go visit her until what this summer because he really does not have the money? Does anyone here wonder if he is real? I wonder!

On D.L. I really could careless but if he really wanted just to let everyone know he has married then Congrats dude but for the other comments you made put your bib back on you are getting food on your chin again!

1.  Begin is a real person, I chat with him almost every day.

2.   He also does not plan to bring a woman to the US, he is planning to move to Colombia this summer and apply for a  visa to live in Colombia.  If the guy wants to send inexpensive presents to a Colombian woman, and he understnads that there are no guarantees of success, that is his prerogative.

I didnt borrow or lend money to SFNM in Peru. I met him several times, he introduced me to one of his children and we talked

Period,

End of story.

Everybody knows he is a breathing human (how else would he type his posts?)...  I don't believe anything about his back story.  I think he has taken a few people for a ride and they still don't know it yet.  Has anybody actually seen him or talked to him ...if he has a heavy new york accent, then you definitely have been taken.  If I'm wrong about him, I owe him a big apology for mocking his sovereignty as a person , but I don't think I am because I think he is just playing you guys.

I am under the opinion that he really only post here to get a rise out of people and then goes away, case in point his comment on the beginning of this thread which D.L denies he made. There is very little know of him and I don't understand how he plans to live in Colombia if he has no money.

You  are wrong.  I do have a heavy New York accent., but if anyone is implying that I am Begin, then they are mistaken

I am posting this from Medellin, Colombia where I live with my wife...and Begin lives in rural western Pennsyvania in the US.

If what he told me is true, and I have no reason to doubt it, Begin was imemdiately banned from P-L several days ago.

Our different locations and his P L status is easy enough for the moderators to check.

If he comes to Colombia this summer, I believe that Begin will exist on his Social Security pension.

Now why don t  you two guys give it a rest?

nobody said YOU were btb...and if you didn't notice it was robertanger who brought up the subject of btb on this thread...in all likelihood you were played by btb, as were a few other guys apparently...From what I'm gathering, you have never actually heard him speak or seen his face...I bet if you meet him this summer you will notice he has impeccable spanish, and a new york accent, and knows colombia like that back of his hand...a far cry from the newbie  that was alternately sending gifts and kicking cyber novias to the curb...

I think the blood hound (F.T.) is right on the money on this one. I really did not read any where that someone said D.L. and BTB are the same person but is there something you feel guilty about?

As I have said D.L. several times before you have a very poor choice in friends including several on other forums that know you very well.

I ve chatted with Begin the Begin inumerable times.

Why you think he speaks Spanish and knows Colombia like the back of his hand?

Ive made on line introductions to amigas of mine from several years ago, and he is using an Internet tranlsation service with them. if the guy actually spoke spanish why would he use a tranlsator service to talk  to women?????

He s a very inquisitve guy and he asks very good questions and I think he has amassed  quite a bit of second hand knowledge about Colombia, not just from chatting with me, but maybe from other people as well, including the women with whom he has chatted.

I think he took some university level Spanish 40 years ago, but he cant keep a chat going in Spanish.

He hasnt played me , he has simply asked me for advice, and for my insights aobut Colombia, Colombian women and the culture, and he has shared some of his personal life with me.

And I am always happy to help any resonable, polite  guy, which he is.

A personal friend (man or woman) is someone who I ve met face to face and we like each other and we know each other s real identities.

Begin is an Internet friend, we ve never met.

Some guys claimed to have met me in Colombia and they go on other forums and they talk a lot of smack.....

but you know.... they never reveal their identities, so they not MY friends, and I didnt choose them!

based on what you said, you have not heard his voice or seen his face, he put an avatar of himself up (presumably) when he started posting, if you were to say that his face was actually same as that avatar photo I might begin to think I was mistaken.

...now he is a very silly sort, the type that would use a translator service for fun or to keep the charade going...or maybe he is just telling you that he is using one with the ladies...his story never added up from his first posts...it looks to me like he played you insofar as he chatted with you based on being a person that he wasn't...he gathered information and gave you lies in return.   This is all my theory because it can't exactly been proved, but his posts NEVER made any sense...and some of comments were not comments made by a guy who hadn't ever been to colombia.

BTW: The reason I think he speaks spanish and knows colombia very well is because I think I know who btb REALLY was!

LOL.  This went from a wedding announcement to a game of Clue; "It is Col. Mustard, in the library with a candle stick."

The photo that Begin the Beguine sent me was EXACTY the same as the avatar foto that he initially posted on PL, a white man with a Kirk Doulgas type chin and gray hair wearing an open collared shirt under a dark green sweater.

jejejeje..........

Well dennislevy, that austere photo was the one he was using for his persona, so it is no surprise that he sent you EXACTLY the same photo!  I'm sensing that you are coming to the realization that you were sucked in by his 'polite' persona...he has created quite a few personalities here in the past (ignorante, was the one before this one), but this was his most 'successful' personality in that he had half the membership commenting sincerely on his cybernovia's...and spilling their guts to him through chat.  I look forward to playing another game of clue when another personality of his surfaces...maybe one already has.

Where s the beef?...

I seriously doubt that Begin and ignorante are the same person, their posting styles were entirely different.

I did notice one similarity. The both used the word, yeah.....now theres a giveaway!!!!!

Ignorante claimed to be a former cop and attorney from Georgia,

Begin is retired and lives in rural western  Pennsylvania. He gave me the link to his Colombian Cupid profile, same photo and everything he wrote in his profile is what he told me. Thats going a LONG way to create a phoney identity

What this boils down to is that you ve run out of shots to take at me. Im now married, so my dating past and my wife are out of bounds.    And so you re reduced to taking shots at people who I ve communcated with on the Internet....or met...

que triste.......
