Whatever happend to Dennis Levy?

I ve been chatting almost daily with Dennis for several months as he traveled in Ecuador and Peru and then returned to Colombia in early February.
Recently, he made on line introductions for me to single amigas of his. A nice gesture and I want to stress that these are friends of his nothing more.  Each one of them women worthy of a friendship.
The news is that Dennis got married last week. ....that's right married!!!! ..... to  his closest amiga, a paisa from Medlelin that he has known for  2 years. I've seen fotos, she is a morena with a beautiful smile. The lady is 55, she has never married and has no children. she is a CPA, and a partner in a family business, a factory in Medellin that employs 25 people.  Micky from the board has met Dennis wife.  Dennis is the same chatting on line as he was on the P L board, he doesn't sugar coat anything and he always gives a straight answer.
It was always Dennis´ goal to marry someone who was stable and mature, part of a united family and from a very good socio economic situation. 
Apparently, he had an incredible three plus year run in Colombia, he traveled all over the country and had lots of adventures with lots of women,......but he never lost sight of his goals.
But he told me that he has completely committed, is in love with his wife  and is no long looking.
Dennis asked me to say hello from him to the board..and most of the board adminstrators
As for the four or so 'enlightened pundits' .. and they know who they are....they aren't going to change.
He wishes luck to the rest of the board members in pursuing their dreams of international romance and achieving their goals

And as Dennis would say...next!

I haven't communicated with DL via email in a long while. It seems he's been busy. I'd like to sat Congrats as well and I wish him the best. Why wouldn't he post the news himself though. Is he banned?

Dennis is not banned.  Officially, he is merely on "Watched" status, which means he is free to post.  He was put on Moderated status about 6 months ago for crossing a serious no-no line (yes, even around here, there are rules), and as a condition of getting demoted back down to Watched, he had to bite his tongue for a while.  As a strongly opinionated guy, I guess that really grated on him, and he seems to have opted to bow out of further community discussions.  But in the end, he did fulfill his end of the bargain, and was demoted to Watched.  That's nothing, really.  Half the active posters around here have been on Watched status at one point or another.

Glad to hear good things have finally come his way.

It strikes me a bit boorish that anyone would disparage or ridicule someone who has just gotten married.

I, for one, wish Dennis well with his marriage - no matter our past differences.

Lighten up a bit folks. It is just an internet forum.

Until, yesterday prior restrictions did make it impossible for me to personally post the news that I married.


I married last week in Medellin, to a wonderful woman who I have known for almost two years. 


I am officially retired from the game and I am very happy and very much in love with my wife.


Begin the Beguine and I are men who have gotten to know each other well after several months of almost daily chatting.  I asked him to post the message and he did, not because I suckered him or I was a coward. 


I consider him to be a very good on line friend and I believe he feels the same about me. 


I hope that he ll move to Colombia this summer and we ll meet in person. I think enough of him to make on line introductions to single amigas of mine who I had met several years ago in Bogota.


The phrase ¨enlightened pundits¨were his words.  Frankly, enlightened is the very last word I would personally use to describe the very small group of men that I was thinking of......


And, their comments on this thread make my point 


Its warm in Medellin, the sun is out and Im going to take a walk around the track next to the Estadio.

I just find it rather strange that someone making a wedding announcement would include petty insults directed at the same folks that he was making the announcement to. I have never seen such a thing before now.

Tip of the day for all posters: Post a cheerful and polite announcement in keeping with the joy of the event. Then, go to the Flame Room and post your silly insults separately, where they belong.

Well zoonyboy, referring to members wives merely as black girls certainly doesn’t sound real nice, and it is also a bit of a distortion.  I realize you were just being a silly goofball, in the same vein as your goofy antics around the ladies.  You remarks would be better received, if you kept the comments away from individual wives and onto the forum participants. I gotta admit your written half-assed Spanish is always good for a chuckle, hopefully you russian is better than the spanish.

Levy may not have caught ANY crap here had he not tossed a small mound of caca himself, through his designated proxy poster.  I’m pretty sure he wanted a reaction, maybe to provide an excuse to recommence posting after his tearful vow to never be back. 

I agree with 4-square with Bozo Ray, if levy had some unresolved feelings he needed to get off his chest, he could have chosen a different thread, rather than his marital announcement thread.

The marriage itself has not been mocked on this site and there has been NO unwarranted boorishness on this thread, as it relates to dennislevy.    Hopefully Levy can figure out how to be a reasonably good husband for his wife!
