need advice...going to Colombia in March 2012
« on: January 29, 2012, 12:56:32 PM »
hello everyone and thanks for reading my post....Im from Los Angeles California and i plan taking a solo trip to Colombia in mid March for 2-3 weeks.... in my exhausting researching, i have narrowed it down to Cali as my ultimate destination or the place i think i will like the most, but its a dice roll as of now...I read alot of Mudd's posts since he has sound experience advice (plus i attended San diego State and what he says resonates with me)....Being that Im flying Delta Airlines, i will be flying into Bogota...(should i stay there for a day or two?)...Once I arrived in Bogota, I planned on catching Copa Air to Medellin and staying up there for 5-7 days. While in Medellin, I planned on taking 2 days out to visit Panama (where I lived on a military base as a child in elementary school for a couple years, and to buy some gold since I heard from a native that its cheaper there) but the flight on Copa or Avianca is $350 USD or more, so if I do make the Panama trip, it'll most likely be by land/boat as advised on Poorbuthappy dotcom. Panama or not, from Medellin I was planning on going to Cali, either by plane ($100 USD) or catch a bus (8hours), in which I would stop in smaller towns (2-4 hours into the journey) and stay a day, maybe two, in order to see the beautiful sights and meet the people, hopefully find me sum sweetheart(s).... I hear Pereria and Manizales and Armenia are good choices but Im not versed well enough to know for sure.....Ive seen Bogota and Barranquilla suggested on this site....   A little about myself- I am 32, pass for 26, black culture descent and native american, college educated and can approach women easily in the USA, but I am sooooo sick of the Hollywood stuckup bi*ch attitude so prevalent in Los Angeles.... I have been to Rio de Brazil for 2 weeks by myself back in 2008, where participated in a bit of pay for play for the first 3 days, then for the next 10, I wasnt having it. It got a bit expensive after awhile, and no portugese under the belt!(the girls would laugh when I would tell them that paying is no-no for me in the US).... in Colombia, I want to see and meet beautiful cutie pies (I speak a descent amount of Espanol) both regular girls and prepago girls- but more of the regular girls (i'm inadvertently looking for my wife, but directly looking to experience new excitement and adventure running thru my veins) than putas.... Im curious as to how much money I should bring with me for a 16-21 day trip thruout the country. I would also like to find a good girl or atleast someone sweet and fun to go to the beach, or paragliding, or to the Amazon with (sightseeing and getting to really know a girl that turns me on and up!)... My types, hmmmm, well being from L.A. I love the morena Mexican girls, I love the mulatta Brazillian girls and the mulatta Dominicana/ Puerto Rican feel, but also the Ukrainian/Russian girls are super.... I like the curvy, nice shaped ass (not super big) slim waist yet thick at the same time.... p.s. Im being rushed, gotta go.... any sound advice will be greatly appreciated! thanks

Sound advice? Don't mix putas and regular girls on the same trip.......you will scare of the regular girls when they find out......and they will find out.

Mike is absolutely correct. Farbeit from me to judge anyone. If you want to go looking for prepagos in any major city in Colombia that's your business. You'll find plenty and they'll be more than happy to oblidge any sort of arrangement that ends with your cash in their purses. But if you want to meet nice girls that you'd like to date on a more permanent basis too, I'd suggest you keep each activity in a different city. You'd be surprised how fast the word gets around when it comes to anything concerning a gringo...even in the biggest cities in Colombia. When a decent woman hears about you philandering around town with the local pay-for-play talent, you can kiss any chance you had at having something with her out the window.

Right you are Benjio.  I've mentioned it here before. I dress like a Colombian (many of my clothes and shoes were bought there), I ride the buses, I don't flash cash or cameras ... but my skin, hair, and eye colour is clearly gringo.

Barranquilla is a city of approx. 1.2 million.  My wife regularly received "Whitey sightings" from friends, relatives, and co-workers when I was out of the house by myself, which was usually every afternoon that my wife was working.  I was amazed at how many people saw me.

I thought I was doing a respectable job as a chameleon, but clearly not ... ;)

Thank you for your replies.... So dont mix, makes sense....As I really think about it, when I went to Rio de Janeiro I wasnt going expecting the pay for play thing but me not knowing any Portugese and meeting a regular that was doing  his yearly rounds in Brazil, I had to get hip quickly i guess, lol.... In the USA, I dont mess around with Pay for play at all and actually scoff at it, but I did innerstand the economic break down in Brazil so I indulged a little.... but having a bit of understanding of Spanish and much experience dating spanish speaking women in Los Angeles... So I get your point not to mix and wont.... I want a genuine experience with genuine ladies.....And I am very serious about all that I posted....Can I get a little help with the places I should go, I mean you basically put more emphasis on me wanting to mix it up a lil, okay, I get that... now the other questions I had.... I greatly appreciate your response

Can't really help you with recommendations on the mongering. I guess go to Medellin for that. I've never been but I hear it's fairly prevelant there.

In terms of finding a decent girl to date, they are all over Colombia. The first time I went I had to depend on an agency because I didn't know Spanish, nor did I know my way around. Now-a-days if I were still looking to date in Colombia, after visiting almost every part of the country, I'd recommend the medium sized cities. Sincelejo, Valledupar, Bucarramanga, Neiva, Armenia, Manizales, Palmira, etc. Armenia and Palmira especially have an unbelievable amount of beautiful women considering the relatively small population. Neiva is a pageant town. There is a beauty pageant for everything from all annual festivals to the local brand of rum. So all the girls there want to be beauty queens...and many have the attitude to go along with that; but still a great place to date. It's really a roll of the dice. Many men will give you generalizations like "if you like darker girls look along the coast." I saw just as many gorgeous morenas in Cali though. Put a map of Colombia on the wall, close your eyes and throw a dart at it. Go wherever the dart lands. If it's not Bogota, I seriously doubt you'll be disapointed either way. Happy Hunting.

Whitey,
Nazly probably will, if she's not already, get reports of you being 'sighted' out and about where you live now too, as there are a good number of Colombians there. My wife seems to hear that I've been here or there in our city, as well as hers, but especially hears 'reports' when she flys home ahead of me and I'm on my own for a few weeks or so.

It was commented that in Colombia if you 'pay for play' news of that will get around and you may find that those are the only sort of women you can get. The Philippines is a very wide spread group of over 7000 islands, but what you do on-line, as well as in real life, has an amazing way of getting around--some call it the 'bamboo telegraph'.
Whether you think you can or think you can't--you're right!

Haha ... you're probably right Rob.  Her network of Colombian friends/acquaintences is growing, from my friends, to classmates, their relatives, other Colombians at the place she volunteers at once per week ...

We're still in the honeymoon stage ... so far in the last 4 months, the only time I've been apart from her except when I'm at work, was a couple runs to the beer store ...

Has anyone that has visited the Amazon feel like commenting on that...And, where are a few good spots (couples type locations) to take a girl that I meet and vibe with and wanna spend more time with....

PG.  PG-13 at most.  Try to keep it family-friendly (your mother and maybe future wife might be reading this).

I haven't been on here in awhile mainly because I got married. In all due respect to whatever advice you have received I would say that you have the right approach. You are a grown man and have an inner moral compass. I have been to most of the major cities and I can only speak for myself; but the mix and match approach worked best for me. Competition is a good thing. Women all over the world can smell desperation and the stank of no "competition."
