Tele-novellas en espanol
« on: January 10, 2012, 11:46:31 AM »
Ok, now someone mentioned that to get used to hearing more Spanish I should be watching a soap opera or two.
So I just finished watching the first chapter of "La Hija del Mariachi". And I want to know just who is Emilo taking the 'fall' for, is it Miguel or is it Phillipe? jajajajajaja  Dios Mio!!!! That soap goes on for over a hundred chapters. jajajajajaja
Anyway the music is good.  :)

I can't answer the question since I don't follow the novela but it's a good idea. When I was in the states I really liked Xica De Silva on Telemundo. It was Brazilian but dubbed into Spanish.

Rich guy who sells high end autos (carros) from Mexico gets framed for tax evasion. Skips country heads for Rio but has to get off in Bogota. Gets mugged in the streets. Meets a Colombiana and her mariachi band all Colombianos, decides to hide out in Bogota. And of course he loves to sing Mariachi songs.
What a concept!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Episode three -  they are in a taxi comparing differences in how words are used in Mexico and Colombia. I can't wait till they start with the really racy stuff. mujajajajajaja.

Those Latin soap operas look pretty sexy--a lot of hot, beautiful women, like USA soaps, only more intense, with a bit more skin. My wife (along with a lot of people--not all women) is hooked on the Korean soaps & movies, dubbed into Filipino and there's some 'eye candy' there, but those Latin shows are spicier for sure.
I guess if I had to watch a little of that kind of thing to the side, it'd be the Latin soaps--there's more lady action, it's spicier and the music isn't sappy pop stuff.
Whether you think you can or think you can't--you're right!

Today I got a belly laugh watching Capitolo 12. Go to the 15 minute mark and watch for about 4 minutes. This comedic scene is really funny.
