American Businessman Assassinated On Colombian Coast.

Here is a news report about an American businessman who was recently assassinated on the Colombian Coast.

The best hypothesis at this time, (according to police) regarding why he was killed? He had been living on the Coast for 5 or 6 years  trying to maintain contact with his son who he had with a Colombiana. Apparently he was a successful businessman who would leave quite a large inheritance to his son (and indirectly his ex Colombiana) upon his death. So they think it was a hit for cash.

"This american businessman appears to have been a very successful wealthy businessman and upon his death would have left a big fortune behind in colombia which has already occured."

The crazy thing with this story is that I found it when I was contemplating some scenarios about how things could work out with my current situation with my Colombian wife and upcoming child if she decides not to come back here. I always liked Santa Marta, and especially Rodadero, and was looking for some modestly priced condos this morning which may be an option to buy.
