So meanwhile, while we’re waiting for the next good flame to break out here on Planet-Love I offer this up: A brand spanking new hotel has just opened (open one month) on Ave Sexta just a block from the allcombiangirls agency. It's also a Spiwak like the one that's been open in Chipichape for while but is considered "Ejecutivo" instead of "Luxo" in other words geared to the executive guest and the price for a single starts at $150.000 with full buffet breakfast instead of the $250.000 starting price at the Chipi Spiwak. All staff are bilingual. I would just caution get a room facing Calle 40 instead of Ave 6ta for the noise. Didn't have time to look at the menu for the restaurant but it looks real classy. Before the closest hotel to ACG was the Hotel MS several blocks away and more expensive.

Also a reminder: So long as you present your passport at check in you can’t be charged IVA, the 16% tax that Colombians have to pay. Always ask for the price with IVA at the desk (almost always included in upscale hotels) before you pull out your passport then make them take it off.
