Hi All
« on: October 26, 2011, 07:19:43 PM »

My name is Don and I got my first taste of South America as a backpacker several years ago. When I got to Colombia I decided to spend some time there and explore.

I was impressed with the women there and ended up with a serious girlfriend. Things didn't work out between us because I had to return to the US and the distance was too much.

I returned to Colombia and now have another novia. I am able to travel and spend more time with her. She lives on the coast near Santa Marta and I visit her as often as I can. Things are going good between us. No plans for marriage just yet.

Welcome to the forum Don.

It is important to be able to visit your lady if it is going to work. Colombianas aren't the type to sit around waiting on a promise to be fulfilled.

Hi Don you sound like the adventurous type. Do you still do the backpacking thing?

I don't do the backpacking anymore. Too many responsibilities in life now. Sometimes I would love to have that kind of freedom again but life goes on.

Thanks for the welcome. I'll try to make a few trip reports from my backpacking days. There are alot of interesting things off the beaten path.
