im ken, 51 and recently went to colombia visiting girl, turned into money thing so i ended this.  im looking into asian women and have been chatting with girl for 3 weeks.  she wanted me to visit her but i am not able to go that easily due to work.  she said she has a tourist visa and wants to come and visit me.  wondering what you guys think and if you think this is a scam.  she works as nurse, traveled outside country before to new zealand.  she has never indicated anything about wanting money, ive never had any indication her intentions were not good.  she offered to scan and send me her tourist visa.  how do i know this is for real and best way to buy her a plane ticket if so.

Its very rare for pinays to get tourist visas to the United States.  Not impossible, but not very probable.

I'm not sure how you can check the validity of this document that she will scan and send to you.  If she is requesting that you purchase a ticket then I would decline she can possibly convert this to cash.

Instead I would offer to visit her in Davao City.  You will get first hand exposure to the Philippines and spend some time in one of the most well run cities in the Philippines.  Plan to visit her family, meet her friends and try to get to know this woman who may become your wife.  If she doesn't work out, you will have a great vacation and possibly (actually with a very high probability) of meeting another pinay! 

A win-win in my book.

I'm sure that you are smitten with this pinay but, honestly, this is someone that you do not know very well.  Anytime large sums of money are involved (plane tickets will cost you at least $1k) or sending western union for any reason then you need to stop yourself.  Would you do this in the US?  Good common sense should always prevail no matter what.

I know its very tempting.  A beautiful pinay at your house for a few weeks or more!  The possibilities of unlimited rutting with a spinner!  Plus, you don't have to take that 16 hour (or more) plane ride!  Yummy!

Well, as many of our members will tell you, this is the exact scenario that scammers hope you will envision.  Simply pay your cash and get a hot pinay for your unlimited personal pleasure, its almost too good be true! 

Well...dude....It is!!

Scammers are patient and well schooled.  $1000usd is over 40,000 pesos!  This sum is worth a few months work on a willing naive horny kano sucker.  One member had this scam develop over a two month period!  He sent her thousands! 

She never showed up and........she ended up being a HE!  Nasty!

So, once again, my advice to you. 

Visit her. 

If she is not excited with that.....dump her....she's (or he's  ) a scammer.

thanks guys, need to hear some feedback about this situation.  im not overly-smitten at this point but have made a nice connection so far.  think i will give this some thought, and give your comments some thought too, and see how chatting goes with this in mind.  i have had some scams from other women which have been rather obvious, and they have got my feelers up so i have been looking for this in my conversations with her.  i have not found any yet, but this is not to say this is not one as well.  i know none of us like to think we are suckers but the reality is that sometimes we are and its good to act accordingly and test the situation prior to making mistakes.  i appreciate your time to advise and reply.

If this costs you anything more than what you pay for your monthly internet connection it's probably a scam. I have first hand experience with almost this exact situation. It cost me a huge embarrassment as well as $1700.00. DO NOT send even one thin dime. I recommend that you go there and meet her. If she balks at you visiting her there in any manner whatsoever,  then you have your answer right there.

Until you've personally looked under the dress, you can't be sure 'she's' not really a 'he'. Hormonal treatments, among other things, can make a guy sound a young girl. Don't be so sure that just because you've seen her on cam and spoken to her from half way around the world, that it's real.
Dreams do come true, but so do nightmares. Sounds like you are wishful thinking at least a bit.

well we had a member here who found a nice looking lady ......... problem "it" was a lady boy & he couldn't tell on cam & i also think he talk with "it" on the phone.
 
but hey maybe the chick you are chatting with is from a well to do family & she really can afford the plane ticket. however $1,000 is 4 months pay for my wife who is a nurse in the Pi. most pinays wouldn't want to spend that kind of coin on going to go see a guy who they just started chatting with. i guess time will tell.

Very possible....but....

In my opinion Ken is  being set up.  I've have 2 pinays from Mindanao attempt this same scam, One in General Santos City the other in Cagayan De Oro.

I think its a very popular internet scam for that region and based on what I've observed, very successful.

As far as the scammers gender one can never really tell!

You can always ask for visual proof via cam, i.e. show me your stuff! But....that can get a bit sticky if the pinay is sincere and thinks you are some type of perv or worse  and you end up destroying the relationship.

On the flip side my sweeties family briefed her on various cases involving kano's raping pinays and most recently the killing of a pinay in South Florida.  If you ask your pinay chat mate to "show you the goods" it may backfire.

So tread lightly.....

I followed a die hard rule that if a pinay focused on money or needed "help" then I dumped her.  I may have lost a few, but I think I dodged quite a few scammers. 

Funny thing is, I followed the same rule with American women!

              There is no such thing as  a "risk free" venture in this international dating scene.Of course no on wants to be a sucker but if you don't take any risks you don't get any rewards either.As far as money goes everyone's tolerance of risk is different.If you don't mind losing the money for a plane ticket I'd say buy a non-refundable ticket.At least if it is a scam they won't get the money for the ticket easily.That isn't going to guarantee you still won't get ripped off though.Alot of scammers allow you to commit your money knowing that they can still come back and say they can't come unless you send them some cash. Many people will send it because they don't want to lose the venture they have already invested in.So if you buy a plane ticket do it knowing you might be flushing that cash down the crapper.

           If you don't have a problem with the plane ticket I don't see why you shouldn't go for it.I'm assuming she will be staying with you right? Then if she is legit you can take the relationship for a test drive without ever having to file any visa paperwork or travel to her country.Sounds like a win/win.

         BTW, if she turns out to be a ladyboy send her/him packing if you are not interested.
