My next vacation?
« on: July 27, 2011, 01:19:49 PM »
Want to lose a few pounds and could use a very attractive personal trainer or equally attractive dentist to make sure your smile is 'just right'? Want to maybe learn an instrument, form a band and record your own music? Or perhaps you'd rather relax, read some good books, listen to music or watch some DVDS in your room, with a flat screen TV and private bath--a kitchen just down the hall if you miss 'home cooked' sort of food?? Get all of this and more in NORWAY!

BUT--you'll have to commit a crime first. Read how the--well 'man' isn't an adequate word--'monster' perhaps , who killed 93 people--mostly children--will probably be sent here--at least everyone has a private room...

While you're at it, you might wonder why Norway is one of the most tax heavy nations on earth..
Whether you think you can or think you can't--you're right!

Does that assassin deserve all that luxury?  Of course not!  It's a travesty that he will not be hanged.  But, every society lives by its own rules.

Norway and US jail systems can't be compared.  Not only Norway's crime rate is a lot lower than ours, it sells huge amount of oil.  For all intents and purposes, it's a European version of Kuwait, and that's ultimately the reason why they can afford to be generous.  In the Middle East they use oil revenue to build absurdly huge and gaudy royal palaces, and in Norway they use it to build absurdly luxurious prisons.  Not sure which one way to waste money is better.  Also since ancient times their penal codes have been among most liberal in the world.

Whether their system is better however should be based on a comparative study of the a rate of repeat offenders in Norway and US.
