As I recall the conversation after she told me that she was a nominal catholic but not religious

She told me
El papa has a charter fishing business in Sardinia,

(and thats why it was so confusing, her ex husband was an Italian...and I thought she was making fun of the pope who lives INSIDE Italy.
And I replied.....well el papa needs a break from time to time, I personally think he likes to surf and look at the young chicas...

Thats when she closed her window!

I wrote her a standard apology, but stated I had no idea of what had happened...... and then she messaged back saying I was terribly rude and how could I make fun of the father of her children?

And that s when I figured out we were talking about two different men!

DL, one has to wonder what it would be like to live with a woman who gets offended so easily :-\ ...You're more gentlemanly than I with your written apologies...If she's offended by something I say 15 minutes into a chat, and she won't listen to my attempt to explain myself, NEXT!

i gotta say dennis you sure do crack me up...i am imagining you locating your boilerplate apology form on the computer and filling in a few blanks and sending it:

Greetings (Blank)

I Dennis levy want to apologize for (Fill in the blank).  I meant no harm by ( fill in the blank) and wish only the best of times between us.  Once again I apologize for the misunderstanding and hope to dine with you again in the near future.  OK?

Don't mistake what I said as criticism, I just think it is funny that he MIGHT have a boilerplate apology already designed!  I've never met dennislevy, but I just can't help but think he would have me giggling quite a bit with some of his methods!

Hey, it's an easy mistake. I remember once wondering "Who is The Potato and why is Mexico so excited that he's going to visit?", then it dawned on me :) . BTW, they held a special session of congress and changed a long standing law just before his visit. Anybody know what law they changed? (I do, and I bet IV does, anybody else?)

Its a good natured shot and you get to take it.

I dont have a boilerplate template, it s just in my head, I ve been writiing in Spanish for so long.....I dont have to think about what to write...

and my goal is always to make sure that a colombiana can t bitch that I wasn t a gentleman, so i always try to giive her an out or she can make a decision.

But its on her....

NEXT!!!!

And now it s my turn for a good natured shot.

I wouldnt  go out with ANY woman 38 times before she let me hold my hand! jejejeje

I know it was a bit less and...you did get a great result!

regards to the MG and FT jr.

i gotta say dennis, i normally wouldn't wait that long either (perhaps 3-4 dates), but i sensed it was right IN THIS CASE...at the time everybody here was telling me to move on...it was only SOLTERO that was seeing where I was coming from!...yes the result has been wonderful and i hope it stays that way!

When the potato visits Mexico it's "La papa", not "El Papa".

To me your joke was funny, even if it had been about her ex! I mean it's not really making fun of the guy/pope, just joking about guys behavior. A woman that gets that easily offended has some issues, it was nice of you to write an apology but I don't think it was needed, asking her what was wrong and once you knew a small explanation of what you meant should have been enough... and then she could apologize for over-reacting to your joke.

Not a very understanding lady and obviously not in the same channel when it comes to sense of humor, which I find very important when it comes to compatibility, it's a good thing you didn't waste too much time with her!

hahaha la papa  :P

that reminds me the first time I heard of the shirts called "wife beaters" it was very confusing and a little scary to think how that shirt ended up with that name!... actually I still don't know why, but at least I know when they are talking about a shirt instead of some guy that hits his wife now  ???

Why of course it's because men who beat their wives favor wearing that kind of shirt ;D . It's also called a "muscle shirt" or a "muscle man shirt". When sold (at least in the United States), the display and/or package usually calls them "A-shirts" or "(sleeveless) under shirts".

So, did you know what law I was referring to?
