Micky - New kid on the block.
« on: April 07, 2011, 11:47:39 PM »
2ALL -

I am Micky,  new to this board.  I read it the other night when I followed a link from "GringoTalk" concerning the epic tale of "SingleFatherNoMore".  Anyhow,  I live in Medellin since Oct 07.  I know a few guys here,  Dennis,  Whitey,  Zon and maybe others.  I have met,  in person,  about 20 guys from the old GT board over the years.  I have always been willing to meet anyone coming to Med to give them a thumbnail view.  I am married so I am not going on a "party tour" with anyone,  although I will drink Aguardiente if I absolutely have to.  That's all for now.

Love - Micky

I was curious about GT so I check it out......the banner ad is for a FLESHLIGHT. Apparently it is a masturbation tool shaped like a flashlight and "feels like the real thing".
Then I noticed the first few posts on the forum were shills for AFA, so my impression of GT is that it is geared more towards the sex trade and persons who hang out there may have a different view of Latin American women than the view which is most common here on P-L.
Welcome to P-L, Micky, but if you are bringing the GT mindset with you then I second DL's advice and suggest you go home.

Dennis was joking, Andy.

GT was a decent board, very similar to this one, but after a change of ownership and neglect, it's virtually dead now.

Welcome aboard Micky - glad you finally wandered in.

Quote = "Welcome to P-L, Micky, but if you are bringing the GT mindset with you then I second DL's advice and suggest you go home."  Mickey is a All Time Pro.  He has lived in Colombia for years and has forgotten more than most of the expert here know.  His orientation is opposite of what you suggest via great assumption.  He represents the best of gringos, not the worst.

Good to see you.

And, I wish there were active discussion boards that focused on LIVING in central and south American countries, rather than exclusively women / searching for a wife.  GT used to be good, but has lost its steam.

AndyLee -

Thanks for the welcome.  May I say that you must be in law enforcement.  You are a GREAT detective!!  To be honest,  the "Fleashlight" really feels like a flashlight,  and me thinking this would be an easy place for sales.

There is a good forum for LIVING in Colombia at http://colombia.vanillaforums.com/discussions
it is owned by Bill Turley who don't take no crap from nobody so the Vanilla forum stays relatively sane and seems appropriately named, pero lots of very useful information for expats. there's another Colombian Experts forum at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ColombiaExperts/?yguid=429420786 and the owner Ian Worthington don't take no crap from nobody neither.
Thanks y'all for correcting about DL's post. I misread DL's post to mean something else relative to the two gringos in Medellin who have caused a massive amount of problems on the Colombian forums over the past couple years, including death threats against those of us who have stood up to them.  These are the same type of low life gringos that would hang out on a forum that advertises FLESHLIGHTS.

Thanks a ton for the info, AndyLee.

( NOTE - A Philosophical Musing ...  Regarding the Fleshlight - just take a deep breath - what is it and what does it mean?  First off, last year Fleshlight grossed over 50 million (is that not the most unbelievable and tragic sentence you have ever read)?    What does that say for the quality of relationships in the USA and Europe?     The reason the Fleshlight was invented and the reason it is a high selling product is the same core reason for this site and many others like it )

For the record....Whitey is rght, I was pulling Micky s chain...something we did constantly on GT. before it was sold and became boring.

Micky tells it like it is, he married a Colombian woman, took on the responsibility of raising a stepson...and he lives in Medellin with his family. He is a straight shooter and if he says something on this board, you can take it to the bank.

GT WAS a terrific site, and and the previous owner Ray Achey and I spent a lot fo time together in Bogota, Medellin and Cali. He sold it and  although it is continues to be a mine of usueful information for latin and South America,  the cameradie between veteran posters who know each other and new guys (that is here on P-L) has pretty much disappeared.

if anyone REALLY wants to waste time...and see what I look like, I have lots of posts on GT with my photo and several threads, the most recent is entitled me and my three suitcases are in Medellin.

Good read Dennis, and good picture. It would be interesting to hear your thoughts on Medellin now, compared to how you felt there after just 3 weeks.

Andy,

What URL are you using for GT (www.gringos.com)?  I've never seen any fleshlight ads there.  It did change hands last year but it isn't a forum that caters to the porn industry.

http://www.gringotalk.com/ IS a shill web site for AFA.  Gringos.com never protected the name Gringotalk and that rat bastard owner from AFA stole it and set up a phony forum.

you are exactly right gromit, here's the link I used http://www.gringotalk.com/
okay, thanks again for steering me derecho, I'll try gringos.com....I think what threw me off is the GT abbreviation y'all are using, GT stands for Gringotalk not Gringos.com, yes?
BTW, I just made us a nifty new word......yáll......it's a bastardization of "you all" as in my redneck roots and putting the accent over a instead of between a and ll makes it a Spanglish word.....

Yeah, yeah, maracuyá.

Gringos.com's (there is even a www.gringoes.com) forum is called Gringotalk but the former owner never protected the name from it being used as a competing (and in this case, counterfeit) web site much like the former owner of P-L not protecting his name allowing some yahoo to use http://planetlove.com/ ("Find what you need..." LOL).

Those of us that use the abbreviation GT are referring to Gringos.com's forum called Gringotalk not AFA's lame excuse for one.

AFA's (www.loveme.com) owners think it must be slick marketing to capitalize on other's business names.

AFA also has a ton of different web sites that all are pretty much cookie cut versions of Loveme.
