If my girlfriend got pregnant and I married her in her country would she be able to get a visa quicker for medical treatment for the pregnancy?  Second part of the question: Would the child be considered a US citizen :?:

A child is considered a citizen of the country where they are born automatically.  So, if you got some girl pregnant and want the child to be US  citizen without all the hassles, you better get moving, time is of the essence.

You need to think more and post less.

If one of the parents of a child born in Colombia is American, then the child is both a Colombian citizen and an American citizen.  I do not know how proof of parenthood is determined.
You are an American male.  Act like it.  You are the top of the food chain.

Please read this link, it should answer all your questions.  Even though I am a Canuck, I do know certain things about American culture and laws.

1. No, there is no priority visa processing for pregnancy. You still have to wait in line like every one else.

2. Maybe, but it depends on where the child was born, if you were a U.S. citizen and the biological father, and you could offer proof.

Are you planning something?  :)

I've should have added, I know all the links and what not. I just want to know if somebody has " been there done that" in real time, not just read the info, but from men who have actually experienced this. Sure, I've had known about this website since 1997-98, but never posted until late last year.

I'm going through that right now. I was married in Cali and my wife is going to have our baby there.  I wish it could be different.  You have to wait like everybody else.  I have to fly to Bogota, in person, and register the baby with the embassy.  I guess it takes a few days to get the paperwork ready so there won't be any hassles.  More forms to fill out.

Hey Mont. Good website with the info.  When I go to Bogota I have to bring the last 5 years of my W-2's.  Marriage certificate and baby's birth certicate. There is also two other forms that must be filled out. Then I have to show up in person. Total time in Bogota is about 2-3 days. I'll be glad when all this paperwork stops.
