If you´re in Colombia or will visit soon try to see Colores De la Montaña. It´s playing now in Cinecolombia theaters throughout the country. It´s another beautifully made film from Colombia that shows the stark reality of life in rural areas, in this case La Pradera, Cauca Department (less than an hours drive from Cali) where campesinos live between a rock (the FARC) and a hard place (the AUC). The storey is unveiled primarily through the eyes of three very engaging kids one of whom had his soccer ball land in a mined pasture and is intent on retrieving it throughout the film. There is absolutely nothing fictional about this film except the actors. A while back I posted about the dark reality of life in much of rural Colombia. This film conveys to perfection what I was trying to describe.
