If I really was a shill???
« on: March 13, 2011, 08:31:29 AM »
I've been thinking about this question (yes, instead of thinking about things that are REALLY important) and I have to ask WHY? would anyone want to be a shill for an agency?
According to what I read on the Internet only 1% of the men who join an agency do so because of reading about it on a forum. So the first question is, "Why would an agency even bother putting up a shill?"
The second question is, of course, is the 1% really an accurate representation?
It seems to me that if I were looking to join an agency I'd first join every forum I could find and start looking for recommendations.
I'd do a forum search and read a bunch of archives then I'd start my own new thread and ask a bunch of questions.
Well, guess what, isn't that exactly what a shill would do? Open a thread and ask some "leading" questions?
Hmmmmm, I wonder if this new guy is a shill, he joined February 21st and posted just one time and has gone silent since, yet look at the wonderful testimonials his question has elicited from all of us :o

Hello and thank you in advance for all those who will respond. I am from Boston. I'm 45... crap does time fly. I am of average looks and I speak only a little Spanish so I thought it would make more sense to look for a wife though an agency. I had written Jamie from Latin Wife a couple of times but I find the guy to be quite curt. Is it me, did I just rub this guy the wrong way?

The third question....isn't it possible for just about anybody to open more than one account on one of these forums. Then you don't even need a second 'live' person to be a shill, you can simply have conversations back and forth between all your 'screen names' and make it look like a REAL conversation and a real life and real time transfer of invaluable information......hmmmmmm, whadda ya think?

Its been done before. . . . This is not new ground. Shills can get a discount on a tour or on other services, like free dates or free memberships. Costs the agencies nothing but there is a gain for the poster.

On a related note, a couple of the major agencies opened their own "forums" in years back. Posting glowing reports from non existent members. Advertising BS services like "relationship consultations" by unqualified counselors, who happened to be married to the agency owner. Wonderful testimonials from the agency owners patting themselves on the back for helping themselves find the perfect match. Or writing testimonials for hair transplant companies claiming how their services had given him confidence and a new life-when the agency owner/poster has a full head of natural hair.

And, while you are having that hair transplant, penile implant, sex change, hernia surgury- why not go on the exciting tour and date beautiful women, dancing and drinking, while recuperating in excruxiating pain from the medical procedures?

Generally, a shill will write something open-ended yet positive about an agency and hope that he can stimulate some interest to make people go look or elicit some positive feedback.

I think if you spend a couple days on this board, anyone that's here for the wrong reason will be exposed pretty quickly. This forum definitely isn't for the faint hearted.

I think we can take that as a compliment.  ;D 8)
