I would have said stock up on tofu, soy sauce, dried seaweed, mochi, fish, and short grain rice.

And chopsticks?

More flight delays. Its now 5.5 hours behind schedule. The absolute soonest she'll be getting to Atlanta is now 7:50 PM EST. The Delta flight tracker map puts her probably still within sight of Japan. Her estimated arrival in Detroit is now 4:30 PM EST. There are still four flights to Atlanta after her arrival, but only three that I think she can make. So it looks like between 7:50 PM and 9:40 PM for arrival in ATL. I'll still meet the earlier one that I don't think she can make, but it's looking like I'll have a few hours in the airport at Atlanta this afternoon/evening.

It looks like we may have a story to tell someday and anticipation is not entirely a bad thing. :)

I slept like an anchor.

Bill

Under the water covered in barnacles? That doesn't sound very restful...  ???

:D

I hope you have a large, good book to read, Bill! Waiting around in an airport is usually not much fun. I know she's well worth the waiting, but it's going to seem like eternity to both of you, I'm sure!  ;)

I have The Girl That Kicked The Hornets Nest. I had forgotten that I have it and haven't read it yet. The problem with me starting this book while I wait is that if it's as good as the first two in the series, I'll be tempted to be reading it instead of paying attention to Cris when shes finally here. NOT!!!!

I had a long (4 hours) layover when i was waiting for my next flight in Detroit. I pulled ont my copy of Culture Shock (have you read it yet?)
it was a good way to kill some time & learn some things too.

Bill,

Is she on the plane yet to Detroit?

When will she arrive there?

She just left Mania, 3 hours late.

Bill

Hey Bill,

I hope that everything has worked out fine by now! I have had a few of those 3 hour delays out of Manila. Everything works out in the end.

Good Luck!

This is the most difficult time I've ever seen anyone get on a plane!

Too many snowstorms in Manila is the most likely cause for the delays.  ;)

She has had the most unfortuneate string of horrible luck in one week than I have ever seen and it all struck right before she leaves.

Bill where is she?

Based on Cris flight Itinerary - this is what happen to that "Initial" flight #.

Depart MNL
Schedule Departure      Actual Departure
6:15am                         9:05am

Arrive at NGO
Schedule Arrival      Actual Arrival
10:45am                     1:30pm

Depart NGO
Schedule Departure      Actual Departure
12:30pm                         6:04pm

Arrival at DTW
Schedule Arrival      Actual Arrival
10:40am                         4:25pm

Depart DTW
Schedule Departure      Actual Departure
12:05pm                         1:34pm

Arrive ATL
Schedule Arrival      Actual Arrival
 2:17pm                   3:41pm

That schedule would put her at DTW at 4:25pm then she would have to go through immigrations, collect her luggage, customs, recheck luggage etc.
That would only give her enough time to catch the 6:40pm or 7:30pm flight out of DTW otherwise it would be the 6:15am/7:30am flight today - unless she was put on an Alliance member flight last night.

I started following this thread after Bill posted on one of mine. I hope things are working out for him with his girl. By now, I would think the long waits at the airport are over? Let us know what's up!

Flight delays, missed connections, icy roads, etc., are all problems that can be dealt with fairly easily.

As long as she cleared immigration with no problems, I'm sure that everything is OK...

ya my understanding is that Atlanta had a whopping 10 YES ten snowplows. i wonder why they have soooooo many on hand???

sanders & snow plows don't really cost that much if you already own the trucks & i am sure the own plenty of big heavy dump truck.
