Yeah, he'll be "REAL" all right, as in "REAL DEAD" if he grows big balls like that in South Florida or Colombia.

INTERNET TROLLS:

Usually, a troll is nothing more than a passing nuisance, but, as this page will show, they can be a worry (stalkers). However, it is almost invariably an inadequate individual who can be safely ignored.

This page will define the activity, and help with early recognition; once acknowledged, trolls can take up residence, and, like athlete's foot, can be difficult to shift. And when you've finished here, I recommend this fairly comprehensive guide to managing sad thirteen year olds loose on Mom's computer.

What Is A Troll?
The term derives from "trolling", a style of fishing which involves trailing bait through a likely spot hoping for a bite. The troll posts a message, often in response to an honest question, that is intended to upset, disrupt or simply insult the group.

Usually, it will fail, as the troll rarely bothers to match the tone or style of the group, and usually its ignorance shows.

Why do trolls do it?
I believe that most trolls are sad people, living their lonely lives vicariously through those they see as strong and successful.

Disrupting a stable newsgroup gives the illusion of power, just as for a few, stalking a strong person allows them to think they are strong, too.

For trolls, any response is 'recognition'; they are unable to distinguish between irritation and admiration; their ego grows directly in proportion to the response, regardless of the form or content of that response.

Trolls, rather surprisingly, dispute this, claiming that it's a game or joke; this merely confirms the diagnosis; how sad do you have to be to find such mind-numbingly trivial timewasting to be funny?

Remember that trolls are cowards; they'll usually post just enough to get an argument going, then sit back and count the responses (Yes, that's what they do!).

"Always do right. That will gratify some of the people, and astonish the rest." -- Samuel Clemens

So Bill, are you posting that to identify yourself as a troll? It seems especially strange that you keep posting on the Latina section when your profile states you are "looking in Philippines". I post here because I have had a lot of experience in Colombia, South Florida (the reason I was posting on this thread), and even in the Philippines.

Myself, I find the value of this forum to be from people who are actually traveling, forming relationships in person (not just in cyber), and who have gone through good times and bad and discuss what has happened to them, honestly.

We are supposedly anonymous here so there should not be anything to hide. Just put it out there and people can learn from it whether it was a good experience or bad. I think one key to keep thing civil is to not "throw rocks if you live in a glass house". Then you will not start a flame war or make too many enemies. Especially if you are commenting on a thread or personal experience of others which you have no idea of what you are talking about.

I have always hated Miami - combining the worst of Latin America with the worst of the United States. The best Latinos in the US are in Texas.

Do you think more Colombianas live in S. FL or in TX?

One source I found had the total number of Colombians living in US at 471,000 (I think that source was 2000). And another source which puts the South FL Colombian population at between 250-350K. But 1/2 of them are reportedly undocumented.

I think there are a bunch of Colombians living in the Houston area though. I was told most are from Cali.

Ignorante....appropriate name.

First of all, nahhh....kind of hard to be packin my pistol grip 12 gauge while working in a cardiac care wing of a hospital. And you got me again, I guess I am a pretty much a pussy that I did not call the cops on a guy jacked up on coke that was so insane that he came to my work and put a gun under my chin. In case you did not know it, the world is a dangerous place. You think the police were going to protect me or something? Please! You are living in a fantasy world. People get blown away every day in South FL for things much less than that. I did not think at the time my budding two week romance was worth taking on an arm of the Cali Cartel or something. I know though, you would have pulled out your weapon and shot him dead on the spot. I know, I know.

Next time maybe I will just log on here at PL and try to PM you real fast to see if you can come help me.

And I am also quite sure you would have continued to date that girl and live happily ever after.....sureeeee when he or one of his crew blows you away in a drive by coming out of her house or work.

Is George Bush your hero?

Definitely South Florida although there are a significant number in Houston. There is a Colombian consulate in Houston where I went to get my marriage visa in the days when a special visa was necessary to marry in Colombia. The consul and I had a nice chat - he was a big Uribe fan and was interested in the fact that my wife's family had been guests at Uribe's finca several times.  Then again they seem to have been acquainted with all of Colombia's recent presidents.

Well... I just never considered looking in the Asian countries before this year, to be honest. I had preferred to look for someone I could meet fairly easily, because I learn more in-person about how the two of us actually get along with each other. That wasn't working too well, though... I was on AsiaFriendFinder earlier this year, and in one weekend alone I busted 23 scammers. Got disgusted and gave up. Still, being alone sucks, so I started doing more searching for Asian dating information, and tripped over this site. :)

Well catching 23 scammers in a weekend is a pretty clear indication that you were looking in the wrong place!
Obviously there are a lot of guys here that are happily married  to Asian ladies, so it can be done!  When are you getting over to your country of choice?  Of course I was on the Latina side of the site, but I found that making the trip as soon as possible was a good decision.  I was pretty green on how this all worked, but I learned quickly and the trip motivated me to get it in gear so I could take a second trip, and a third one, and so on.

Alabamaboy, lots of good law abiding people in south Florida carry guns, and there are news stories all the time about self defense shootings against these criminals that you seem to think are invincible and unstoppable.  It is not a "fantasy world" as you suggest.  Lots of regular people call the police even if they do not defend themselves from a death threat.  Again, this is not a "fantasy world," either.  People call the police, especially when they know the identity of their attacker.

I do not know what sparked your petulant rant, but I am not about to turn my community over to low-life criminals.  I do not know what that has to do with "George Bush" being a "hero" and the rest of your incoherent ranting.  If attitudes like yours become too prevalent, then people like Danny Devito are only encouraged and soon become the norm.

I am truly sorry that you do not feel capable of defending yourself, but there is no need to go on an internet rant against those of us who are capable and willing just to try and make yourself feel better.

Are you this difficult to deal with in person, or is it just the internet?

Ignorante: I was at work in a cardiac wing of a hospital! Do you think many people carry weapons there??

I was working a temporary 3 month assignment there. I was not a full time resident who grew up there and had my own crew of friends who could watch my back for me. He on the other hand was a resident of there, knew enough about me to find out where I lived and worked. I did not know anything about the guy, where he lived, etc.

If you want to die in a situation like that, be my guest. I am not about to put my life on the line for a casual relationship. If you think a coked up punk with a "little man" complex, hot temper, and a loaded Glock are not pretty much unstoppable when you have no weapon, then I don't know what else to say.

My rantings are not very incoherent if you have a brain.

To give you an example....I have worked over 25 years in health care and have never, ever met a person who packed a weapon while at work. If you think there are a bunch of them out there, yes....you are living in a "fantasy" world.

Says he wasn't a hospital orderly, but I was sure I saw him as one--oh no--now I remember--that was Jerry Lewis in 'The Disorderly Orderly". Very close though....
Whether you think you can or think you can't--you're right!
