K-1 and Credit Checks?

Hi all!

Has anyone heard if they check your credit score to decide if you are suitable to support a foreign bride or anything like that? I had heard or read somewhere before a few years ago that they do. You can probably guess that if I am asking my credit is not good, so if it's true then I would like to know before I pour my resources into travel and immigration application fees etc...

P.S. I think I have found my special lady also. Another reason to know before I get too deep and break her heart.

You just need an income 125% above your local poverty level or a co-sponsor to bring you up to that level

Check your credit score??

I have never heard of that...

They want evidence of CURRENT income, preferably from permanent employment...that's all.

Don't worry about a credit score.  Destroy your credit all you want! That is not factored in or asked for at any step during this process.
