Just saw a little snippet about michael moore and others now calling for a complete boycott of the big banks.

I really can't blame the banks entirely for this mess...they did get greedy and feed at the trough...saw i support screwing with the banks, despite it being led supported by michael moore.

Riot in Oakland!
« Reply #976 on: October 26, 2011, 07:15:35 AM »
it interesting to juxtapose the recent violent riot in Oakland with the supercommittee meetings that have recently started.  Really things have been cooking along pretty smoothly, if that supercommittee starts slashing entitlements then that riot in oakland will look like childs play.  Actually the media is playing up that riot quite a bit, it didn't really look like THAT much to me...but the police did storm the group and tear gas/flash bangs were in play.  I don't think the supercommittee will have the courage to do what is really necessary to get the nation's finances under control...we shall see.

The new Herman Cain smoking ad has spawned many hilarious spoofs! Now the claim is being made that he isn't really serious as a candidate and is only trying to get attention. Those front runners are always everybody's target. I bet that's why Ol' Newt is staying in the shadows for now.

That's the thing Piglett. It was reported they have video of the vet trying to explain to the police how the protesters were unarmed and the police shouldn't be acting so tough since the police were armed.

Alot of vets are joining the movement from what I hear. The more I learn about the movement the more I disagree with it.There seems to be an underlying tone of Socialism.I don't agree with it.But I am glad to see people are finally getting passionate about something. This movement and the Tea Party movement are about 10 years too late.

It is pretty much official about the RIOTS IN THE STREETS.
« Reply #981 on: October 28, 2011, 07:09:13 AM »

I've been thinking for a few years these riots would make there way here and i think it has pretty much happened now....i took quite a bit of sheet when i first made these statements a few years ago, but to me it looked obvious that this was going to be the end result and as it turns out i was correct.
These riots aren't really riots yet because i'm not seeing too much violence YET, but at this point it seems inevitable that these protests are only going to grow and at some point there will larger scale violence/destruction...and even deaths...i don't see how obozo and the gang can quash these people without resorting to very heavy handed tactics.

I'm more on the side of law and order during these protests...if a person tosses something at a police officer i feel he should be dealt with immediately and not with kid gloves...once these mobs get emboldened they will start getting very destructive and that should be minimized...

FT, obozo isn't the one that will handle anything.

This is strictly a local law enforcement issue and these little commie punks will get what they deserve whether Obozo, Pelosi, Michael Moore, George Soros, or any of the other Marxists likes it or not.

I'm sure law enforcement will do what is necessary to keep things under control. They have enough "non-lethal" weapons for crowd control.

Obozo will err on the side of harshly criticizing law enforcement when the time comes.

Regarding the riots in Syria....up to recently the Syrian army has been very loyal.  A few days ago, they had a big revolt and quite a few defectors came back and killed loyalist military members.  Assad had better keep a close eye and very tight reign on this sort of thing, because the protesters seem to be gaining a little more traction.  He does appear secure at the moment and has Russia/China/Iran on his side.

Re: Riots in the streets 2008-2013 style. CAIN CAIN CAIN!
« Reply #987 on: November 02, 2011, 04:52:16 PM »

I like Herman Cain so far. Not because of his business experience.I look at that as a negative really. Running a company and trying to get legislation passed are two different things. I like Cain because he actually has a plan and actually answers questions. In the end that will kill him politically. Now he can be pinned down and criticized(it's coming) by everyone.Politicians don't answer questions so they can go with the political tide and mood of the country.I hope Cain can defend his positions well because he is going to have to.I also hope there are no skeletons in his closet either.

I did see Cain was actually answering a lot of questions today.  I think you are right, the media or Obozo is going to try to make a fool out of him and poke holes in his plans.  He will face a lot of heat soon.  I hope he can handle it because I really like his ideas and how he presents himself.   It will be interesting to see what skeletons he has in his closet because they sure will be haunting him soon and I'm pretty sure the closet has something other than moths and old suits in it!
I'm not a big Romney fan either, but he is steady and generally seems to come close to representing my point of view on most issues.

Fathertime!

Well well well, it looks like poor Cain is getting skewered by the media now for these sexual allegations that he supposedly did 15 or so years ago.  What a load of crap!   In my mid 20's I was threatened with sexual harrassment too!  I remember it perfectly to this day.  Here is what happened.  I was a manager and an employee was grumbling that she had to come to work at 5:45AM and lived far away.  I made a comment to a subordinate employee that she could spend the night at her boyfriends house who lived just 5 minutes away.   I thought nothing of it, until later in the day, I got called into the office and was told I had to be careful because "Sally" was thinking of filing a sexual harrassment suit.  The person in charge knew the charges were BS and sided with me, but from that day on out, I rarely talked to my 'accuser' and tried to make sure not to do her any favors.    One reason I bring this up is because I don't believe that Cain did anything too out of line, just having fun with people probably.   THE PROBLEM is that he is claiming to not remember what happened.  That I don't believe, I remembered everything and a man of his mental capacity would not forget an incident like this which clearly involved more people than the small one that happened with me.   I think it was a screw up to not come a little cleaner about what happened, unless of course something a little more significant did occur, in that case he is going to be totally skewered by the media.  So far this seems like a crappy reason for his campaign to get derailed.  The way our stupid society works, you can't really have fun teasing womenfolk even in a friendly way, without taking a big risk.

After the riots in the streets women may wind up getting dragged around by the hair like in the stoneages or Afghanistan! Just kidding so please no sexual harassment lawsuits!

Well the ladies are coming out of the woodwork now on poor Cain.  I would be surprised if he survived this now.  I listened to what he said today and to be earnest it didn't ring entirely true.  I wish it did because I like him.    Twice he said he has "NEVER been inappropriate with ANYONE"...that is not possible in my opinion.

That denial today was not nearly strong enough.  If he really didn't do anything inappropriate he should have been commencing some lawsuits for slander.  In my opinion he didn't because he knows there has to be some truth to what is being said.    This story is going to haunt him now.  Depending on exactly what the hell he actually did do, he could have survived it if he came out with the whole truth, but I don't think he has done that.   I'd still vote for him, but I think he has turned off too many other voters now to actually beat obozo.

I know.  I'm just looking at root cause.  I'm a firm believer in the principle that a people will get the government it deserves, so a crummy politician is just a symptom, like a fever or a rash.  You can take a pill for the symptom, but the root cause is still there waiting to pop up again.

Things were screwed up long before 2008 but the 2008 elections were the height of idiocy in my book.So many people voted for Obama without knowing much about him. That's kooky to me.It's like people went to vote and thought they were voting on American Idol.I guess in some ways they were! hehehe!

I'm glad to see the Occupy Wall Street movement.I don't agree with much of it but it's good to see a large number of people in the US passionate about something.I hope many people get more in tune with the issues and decide to occupy something besides the couch!

I know it's too late now piggy, but if you had asked, the government would have sent you 1 or 2 free vouchers good for $40 each toward a digital converter box for your TV. And the digital signal is much clearer!

You can probably buy a converter still in the box for around ten bucks if you look around.

Piglett,
I thought you were mooching internet for free through a neighbor. As Kfc points out, there's a whole lot of programming available for free there.
If you don't want to go that route, never mind buy a modern TV and run an HDMI cable from your computer to it to transfer the signal to a big screen, maybe you need to think like Bill Murray's character in 'Ground Hog Day' and be commando like resourceful and glom an internet signal for free.
As I recall,Woody described a method where with an old wok that somebody probably threw out and some baling wire, you angle the wok to the stars and get your own dish TV and run the wire back to your TV. Maybe that'll work and also prevent tensions about who gets to use the computer.
I think I remember that your New England state's motto is "Live FREE or die" and you certainly seem to embody that thought! ;D ;)
Whether you think you can or think you can't--you're right!
