Seems to me that there is a recurring theme on this board of guys having all kinds of problems with colombianas. Not just on this thread but Luisa or Claudia? and No luck on Colombian Sites and that is just on the first page here. I can't remember how many I have read since I joined.

It has been my experience that colombianas are the nicest women to meet, date and make love to on the planet and just thought that it might be worth pointing out that this focus on marriage the moment you meet a woman might be the source of a lot of their problems.

If anything I'd like to see the emails of the wife hunters on the board.....if they are anything like the poor slob that keeps writing my girlfriend telling her (or bribing her on) how he would marry her and take her to the states for a better life then we would all know where the problem lies. LOL!!

But what do I know....carry on wife hunters...jajaja

I couldn't agree more that rushing into a marriage isn't really a good idea.Colombia is a great place to meet women(when I was wife hunting it was one of my favorites anyway)But a guy really does need to have the right mindset, IMHO.Where does the problem lie with guys who have difficulty? I think there could be several possibilities, not just one.During my wife hunting years I ran across several different situations and learned from them.I got my "education" from my own and other's experiences in agencies and travelling on my own.A forum like this one would have sure been helpful but I found my wife before I found PL and I have to say I bagged a good one.I had my camo and the right "bait" and bingo! I got her mounted over the fireplace(actually it's just our wedding portrait).

their is a difference between  " wife hunting" and " speed dating" as i call it. and i have seen it in several forms.

wife hunting, you already decided your looking for ONE girl for a serious relationship, yes, you might have to date and meet several, before you find the right one but at least you know what your intentions are.

speed dating, as i call it, is a guy who says he looking for a serious novia, maybe a wife, and is dating as many girls as he can, usually stringing along a few unsuspecting girls along the way, who think they are only dating him and vise versa, but come to find out, he is dating and sleeping with several girls at a time and never sems to find one good girl.

their are some girls i have met over the years, who will only date one man at a time, and are not players, but they always  seem to meet and date the " speed dater" and get burned

same for a few select guys who were serious, tried to date only one girl, but got burned in the process, for various reasons. .....but it should be clear before you start this process, whats your real intentions, to find somebody serious, or to just say you are and be a player

back to the friend  with the computer, he did get the computer back, and it wasn't worth much, even if he did lose it.  he is   not s speed dater, but like most older guys, he is trying to date, way out of his league and age bracket and compensates it by throwing $$$ around, which leads to a whole other mess of problems. to each his own i guess, but at least, he found out she was pretty dishonest.

" what comes around, goes around"  ;)

No!

I was agreeing with your spot on observations and just repeating advice pertaining to the original poster's actions, the latter part of my post had nothing to do with you at all!

I have no doubt, that you are NOT like some of those poor saps who have all the problems!

It is not just this board.  I read somewhere else some guys comments about how NONE of these colombiana's REALLY like their man.  A lot of it comes down to the man himself.  I'm convinced that in the vast majority of the cases, it is a defective man that brings on the problems.  That being said, I am pretty darn certain that the overall poor living circumstances, opens the door and brings the babes to us.  After that, I am convinced during the 'dating process' certain men shine and the love is entirely genuine while others with too many negative traits are just going to be stomped on, disrespected, and made a joke out of, they are good for the visa/money, but little else.  Frankly in many cases, these guys have it coming and are no longer worthy to have their genes forwarded or receive genuine affection.

By the way Crowpro, I feel the same way you do about the 'dating/meeting/' process with these colombianas.  Hell, if I had endless money/freedom to travel, I probably would have been enjoying the Colombian babes until one of them gave me a heart attack. Men surrounded by babes daily don't have much incentive to make a choice on one.  In a way I'm thankful I didn't have that freedom, because what I have is so good/special and who knows what might have happened had I been living in COlombia for several months at a time.

As a fellow wife-hunter, I use my 'pelt' as a blanket.  Although I've emptied the shells from their chambers and locked the rifle up, I don't know that the rifle will ever be completely discarded.

Once again, I've got to agree with FT here.

The problem is not with Colombian women in general, but rather the pre-pagos or psuedo pre-pagos that certain types of men seem to continuously get involved with.  I place the blame much more on the man in this case than the woman ... he was out of his league and throwing cash around ... in other words, a giant papaya.

If you jump into an ocean, covered with chunks of fish guts and blood, you shouldn't be surprised when you attract the sharks instead of the cute little dolphins!

As I say ad nauseum, there are plenty of GOOD Colombian women, and many of us on the board here are married to them.

The only difference between most of these (financially) poor or underemployed Colombianas and Western women is that many of these Colombianas are beautiful.  A poor, uneducated woman living in a Western country will almost certainly be fat and ugly, and thus have no opportunity to attract men willing to shower her with money and gifts in return for sex.  If they could, chances are many of them would.

Alot of guys from the US also go to Colombia with the mindset that has been drilled into them."The worship of women" culture here sets men up to be,well, wussyfied. That kind of mentality towards women gets alot of guys to be suckers and easy targets.

If I had wanted to stay single and be a "sport dater" I could have done that without leaving the US.AWs are alot easier to use and discard than sweet Colombian ladies and I never was attracted to the semi-prostitutes there(like alot of guys are).

Right now I would rank CROW as having the best take on this whole Colombiana experience. And it is probably because he lives there. The more time you live there, the more clear things become.

FT & Whitey are making a lot of sense too.

i tell it like i  see it, if you don't like it, tough cookies!!!!!! ;)

sine been going to Colombia for over 7 years, lived in Medellin, ran a business there, see all sorts of weirdos, social misfits trying to  get girls way too young, out of their league, throwing $$$ at them thinking they can change the girl, or take out of her improvised situation and use  it as a  "  dangling a carrot"

seen the other side, girls working good guys who had no clue and should have done some research before heading down. guys who were desperate and the girls could smell it a mile away, worked guys over for a visa. one guy in particular i remember, about 37, fat, not much to look at, bad teeth, but nice guy, good personality, started dating a girl about 23, had 2 kids, but wow, beautiful girl. everybody was watching her and him, how they each reacted, acted when together, was easy to se,e she wasn't all that much into him, and several people asked him, " you sure you know what your doing?"  because was obvious, she was using him to get to USA with her kids for better life.
1 year after she got there, she divorced him.  but this guy, you couldn't change his mind.

I'm shocked to find out you are an agency owner.....after reading your posts I wouldn't have been surprised to find out you were the leader of feminist activist group trying to stop foreign marriages altogether. LOL!!!

I can't imagine a worst business to be in other than the marriage agency scene....but shouldn't you try to emphasize the positive out comes instead of the negative. You have had to have some success....let's hear about those for a change.

He would but there are no positive outcomes. And really, when you get right down to it, the best thing to do with a Colombiana is leave her in Colombia.
