Are those forums like this and if so could you please pm me the address (if it is bad messageboard protocol here to post them).  If it is ok just post them I googled them and did not find them with a quick glance

play2win no those forums are nothing like this one in any way. They treat seriosly issues about visiting, living in, places to go, the politics, logistics, visas, the news...well just about everything that might interest you if you want to visit Colombia. However they  aren´t [i]"dating a latina or Philipina"[/i] oriented. If that´s all you want to chat about you´re better off here.

Ok thanks.  There is a chance I might move to south america though.  Let's see how my financial situation and my spanish comes along in mid 2011.  I am not sure where I would want to move.  My first choice was Brazil but now I am thinking about other countries that are mostly spanish.  Maybe Argentina or Peru.

As JimD says, those forums are nothing like this one.  I will disagree about the phrase "they treat seriously issues ..."

There are a lot of nutbars and trolls on those sites, but also some good people and some good info ... you need to put up with a lot of cr@p to find the gold.  Anyway, you'll find Gator there.  Will send you a PM.

I think Vanilla may be closed to new members at the moment ... not sure ...

And whitey I would have to disagree with you. The allaboutcolombia site run by flatline is quite serious and you will find not only gator but many other valuable posters there who really want to discuss Colombia as I outlined above and don´t get bogged down in the old poorbuthappy troll BS. Check it out! Good stuff there!

I stand by my comments ... lots of good info and lot's of nutjobs too ... not too different from PBH in my opinion ... maybe a few less nutjobs ...

Poor But Happy. A now closed site about Colombia that used to be pretty good until it got overrun by trolls and nut cases and the manager had to close it.

Trolls exist everywhere. We used to have some trolls here as well - actually, I think of them more as the slime you have to scrape off your shoes when you aren't paying enough attention to where you step - but in any case, we managed to eradicate the scum.
