There's nothing wrong with wanting a 10, but as others have said, a 10 should be more than just looks.

What makes my wife a 10 is her heart and soul.  Inside she is incredibily affectionate, kind, calm, happy, thoughtful, hardworking, honest, and smart.  Much more than just arm candy.

I consider my Colombian wife to be a 10, and although to me she is very beautiful, I would not rate her a 10 in the looks department.  And you certainly wouldn't catch her wearing some of the outfits in some of those pictures, particularly on a dating web site. For her, that would be sending out the wrong kind of image and attracting the wrong kind of man.

Braziliangirl I think most posters here (with the exception of bored visitors from the Asian Board with a lot of time on their hands) have been to Colombia more than two times and ex-Colombians who arrived in and live in the US have had gene transplants so they bassicly can´t offer any valid observations about anything.

It depends on how attractive you are. Remember you will have a lot of competition to get a 10. Since you are not rich, if you are not at least an 8 that would be hard.

I live in a part of Brazil in which the girls are not known as the most beautiful ones, but you can find tons of girls like those you are calling a 10 just by walking at any slum around here. I'm pretty sure it is the same thing in Colombia. Maybe better, because there they have bigger breasts.

Also..I read posts from P-L in general because relationships are relationships, it all ends up being about interpersonal relationships no matter who you marry and where they happen to live, Colombia or China or USA.

I don't post on P-L because I am bored.  I post because I want to render my opinion, even if its not asked for, to share the benefit of my experience, and hopefully prevent some guy from f*cking up like I did.

I've been travelling to Colombia since 1998 and was there twice in the past year.Don't get me wrong, I think a woman's point of view is welcomed here but, IMO, I think newbies benefit more from those that have experience in what he is looking to accomplish than those who are just talking.That's why I brought it up, no offense.

I agree 110%! I have seen so many women who first appear to be a 9 or 10 by looks alone...then they open their mouths and reveal their nasty attitudes and/or show their bad habits or behavior and quickly right fall off of the chart!

Well, I've only been to Colombia once, been married to one of them for 6 years now.....come to think of it, I've never been to Costa Rica, and I was married to one of them for 16 years.

I think bcc was only there once and singlefathernomore has never been there, too. Not sure why I don't count. I guess it's because I'm married to an Asian women, even though I've been to Mexico over 100 times, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Brazil, Argentina, El Salvador, Uruguay, Brazil, Venezuela, and probably a few more I can't think of right now (and dated women in many of those countries.)

$20k is good...I only got offered $5k to marry a Colombian doctora who was a 10...at least in the looks department (never met or spoke with her, just saw pictures). I told her aunt that I wasn't interested!  I figured the aunt would own my house in a few years!

I don't care if you've been from to USA to visit Colombia ten times for two weeks each time and she's only been there twice, her nation neighbors theirs, she works with them and I'd think that being in closer proximity, I'd be more inclined to take at face value what she has to say, although it is from a rare (for here) female's valuable view point.


We all can get into heavy topics and nit pick a bit sometimes, but the lack of 'give and take' and humor lately around here, as well as in the Asian area, makes me realize why people other than myself, post less and less, or even just disappear totally.

Who wants to tune into when things seem overwhelmingly negative and  increasingly full of nit picking note takers and makers? Not me.
