My case is a real oddity I guess. At the time I was not looking for a relationship at all but instead was planning a vacation to Japan and had been doing a bit of travel research online. I came upon a Japan travel site in which travelers could post pictures that they had taken while in Japan. One poster's pictures really caught my eye and I was interested in one of the locations depicted in the pictures so I sent a PM to the poster asking for further details. As it turns out the poster was a Chinese woman who had just returned home from vacationing in Japan. I asked her about her travels and we PM'd back and forth several times before exchanging email addresses. Our conversations progressed from there and the rest is history as they say. So technically I guess that I would fall into the free website category although the website on which I met my wife had nothing to do with dating or relationships.

My first foreign girlfriend was bored at work and messaged me randomly, I guess to hone up her English skills. We hit it off at first but things turned south after meeting in person.

My second foreign girlfriend I actually met before the first but didn't realize she liked me. She had been searching the internet because she was curious whether westerners used marriage agencies like many Taiwanese men do and stumbled on this site. She read some of my posts and sent me a PM. We started e-mailing then talking but it was always kind of on and off. Dumb me thought of her as just a friend and I would mention girls I liked to her and she'd get PO'd and stop talking with me for a while.

I guess I'm sort of in between 'Introduced to my wife by a mutual friend' and 'met online', you could say all online or a combination of the two.

Anyway, I was on Yahoo and met a Filipina who was living in Vermont. I explained I was single (she was married) and she introduced me on line to her sister, who was back in the Philippines.

The sister was a nice lady, but there just wasn't the right chemistry. My Vermont Filipina friend realized this and told me "I have another lady back in the Philippines I'd like you to meet". She introduced us, and about four years later, we were married, but for more than two years, we were pretty much just friends.

My story is somewhat similar to Cap's.  I was looking at web sites trying to learn about teaching English in Japan, and a poster came on asking about English grammar so she could translate her short stories into English.  I replied, we started an e-penpal correspondence, and the rest is history.  So, technically, free web site.

Maybe there should be another category "Met By Accident." I could fall into that category as well...definitely was not planned, but a chance meeting of a friend of a friend...who noticed something in both of us and introduced us. But, introduced by Friends or Family is still more accurate in my case.

Yahoo used to really rock as a place where you might meet just about anyone from anywhere and have good conversation.

It really has declined in recent years, which is too bad. It's still invaluable for chatting with the distant friends you've made already, of course, but after you get married, most of that Yahoo chat goes by the wayside.

I use yahoo chat every day, it has voice and cam also integrated.

She has opera mini with yahoo chat on her nokia cell phone and i have yahoo chat on my Blackberry!  We chat for free pretty much 24/7!!  On my laptop we can cam and voice when she is on her computer!

I don't spend any money to communicate with here on a daily basis, pretty cool!

To meet new marriage prospects, I don't think yahoo is the place to do that anymore!  But to communicate with people you already know, it rocks!

When you go to Philippines, I'm assuming that's where you are going, then you will soon forget Zulu's babe!  How do I know this?  Well....my sweetie has introduced me to her family.  If you think my babe is HOT, she is the youngest of 4 sisters and not the best looking!!  

And get this!  She also introduced me to all of her girlfriends....she is a troll (and I say that with all love and respect for my woman) compared to some of her girlfriends!!!  OMFG!  Oh yeah, and most of them, like my sweetie, are still virgins!  Honestly!  Province girls are the best!!

So, Henry, get ready for sensory overload, and try not to get whiplash or tear an eyeball out of a socket!

I'm really not a pro at this!  

So, I just got on a free website, www.dateinasia.com and found my sweetie in about a month!

Really just that simple in the Philippines, honest!  

Of course you have to court, make the trip, etc just like any relationship, its not instant like coffee!  Lots of hard work, but the P-L crew will guide you if you listen and heed the warnings.

Based on your profile you are looking for a Latina.

When I started looking for a wife, I was also looking for the latina look, i love it!

I read the Latin posts on P-L and things work quite a bit different over there in Latin America, I just didn't have time for any drama, multilpe meetings, etc.  And its almost requirement that you learn spanish, that sealed the deal and was an instant NO for me!  I have no desire to learn Spanish!

I then turned to Asia.  Since I was not up for the mental and emotional ABUSE that Thai women put all american men through (had two cousins make the mistake of marrying thais) so I laid my sights on the Philippines!  They know English and the women range from the oriental to the latina look and most have the permanent tan!  Plus they make incredible wives!!

As far as introductions go, I just met my sweetie in February.  I can't really vouch for any one and I have not been to the philippines yet to met her, her family or friends.  So I'm really not the person to  help you.

Not sure what site you are on, but DIA has some HOT asian babes.

When I was searching, my sweeties pic was not what caught my eye, it was her profile.   The very conservative women put up crappy pics because they want a potential suitor to be attracted to their profile not their pic!  These are the best ones to court.  The sluts, bar girls, cam girls, liars, cheats and lady boys are also lurking so watch out for them!  All that glitters is not gold!

In fact my sweeties picture was absolutely awful!  I didn't see her real picture for almost a month and when I did, i was pleasantly surprised and honestly a bit relieved!

There are hundreds of single quality pinays on DIA, you just gotta be patient and find the right one for you!  It took me over 2 months and 300 emails!

And in the end you may find her, but SHE will make the final choice if you are the one for her!  That's why I chose the Philippines, the women have high moral standards and the highest integrity.  Once a woman has committed herself to you, its for life.
