I am not saying that it cannot be done, but the odds of successfully choosing a lady in person is much lower IMHO! I personally know many of these relationships that have failed. We have had a few posters in the past who met their ladies while vacationing in the Philippines...unfortunately most of the relationships also crashed and burned! It is just too easy to get speared by a gorgeous lady with evil intent, while the truly nice ladies pass you by...unnoticed. Choosing a girl from a lineup at a "meet and greet" or one that caught your eye, smiled at you, and began talking to you in the mall can be quite problematic in the future! This isn't America! You have to know what you should be looking for, where, how, and be very patient!

Afterward, many of these guys whose relationships bombed, lump all Filipinas into the same category and bad mouth them because of their own damn stupidity!

I am sometimes amazed at what guys consider a "good girl!"  But hey, whatever floats your boat! I would say that if most of your lady's shoe collection has heels over 4 inches and looks like it belongs on stage...that may be an indicator that she may not have been considering to becoming a nun, like she told you.  ::)

Speaking of F-Me pumps...enjoy!

I dont necessarily share Dave's view, but he makes some excellent points!

Hey zulukong,

I know what you mean! I don't always want to agree with Ray...but I have noticed over the past 10+ years that (like it or not) he is usually right!

Final votes tallied

Looks like the vast majority 16/23 favor the No Backup Plan route!

I went there with no backup plan, but even though my girl was not what i was thinking she would be I still would not trade my experience there for anything.  I would go to the Philippines just for the culture and the people and the beautiful natural sites I experienced.  I really enjoyed myself there especially eating the food.  I didn't like the idea of a back up plan because i didn't want to hurt a lot of people.  If you do have a backup let all parties know up front that you are not one hundred percent committed until you see them and confirm the union in person.
