The Russian babes really do look good.  The body shape is generally different, long, lean,intriguing faces and eyes.  I loved my time in the Ukraine.  For whatever reason, I felt more comfy though with the Colombian women.  I found them on the whole to be more innocent, although that could have just been my perception.  In my opinion if a man is attracted to a particular look, that is the area he should begin his search in and see what comes of it!

A lot of those babes in former USSR nations have had hard lives, with long, cold winters, drug and alcohol abuse, street and organized crime and a lot of them have almost by necessity, become cold, calculating and cunning beauties, capable of projecting warmth and charm to get what and where they want.

Not all, by any means, but my forays into that part of the world didn't last long. I did meet one half Asian, half Russian babe in Kazakhstan who was definitely worth considering as a keeper forever, (and she too had to endure the awful things I described) but pretty much all the others were suspect.

And a lot of those babes in former USSR nations have one thing that 98% of Latinas will never have - education and culture. The communist system may have been evil and deeply flawed but at least it left the legacy of an educated female population. And while there may be disingenuous women within the former USSR, at least nobody can get away with saying Russia is "not a reading and writing society" - a phrase used here recently to describe the whole of Latin America with little in the way of dissent from P-L members. Oh, and before i forget, ex-USSR women are not renown for being desperately ugly either.

Like many women there, the half Asian, half Russian babe in Kazakhstan who was definitely worth considering as a keeper, was highly educated, with degrees in Nursing and teaching and her parents both held doctorate degrees. She wrote me marvelous letters about the area's rich history and culture.

Nonetheless, they, especially the women, had an awful time getting any meaningful employment and even the so called 'good' jobs paid starvation wages. A lot of educated people there go to work in the oil fields there, and despite having some of the world's richest oil deposits, the money doesn't really trickle down to the workers. It seemed to me that wealth was limited to a very small percentage of the population, who controlled everything and that alcohol, drug abuse, corruption, organized crime and violence towards women are part of everyday life there.

I remember Leila getting robbed--mugged and assaulted twice in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

it's kind of weird in that the Philippines has similar issues, but most Filipinos for reasons beyond my comprehension, seem to be absurdly happy individuals, where the people in the former USSR states seemed more likely to be painfully aware on the inequities of their hard and cruel lives and they accepted them begrudgingly and stoically.

The peoples of the former USSR have for many years suffered hard and cruel lives, true. But it is this hardness that so often enables them to achieve success when they break out and start new lives in the West. My own parents are prime examples. And I am far far more impressed by girls with credentials like Leila's than sexy chicas who know all the dance moves but have nothing upstairs other than silicone.

I have been always had reservations about looking for a soulmate within the former USSR on account of the comparative lack of Christian values in society over there, but i'm not gonna allow this to put me off anymore. As more and more evidence confirms my notion that Colombia nowadays is pretty much a no-go area for anyone hoping to meet a classy, decent, educated and sincere young woman (with many other Latin American countries faring no better), i'm starting to hedge my bets.

I always say I could have been happy going to Latin America, Eastern Europe, or Asia. I know the cultures are vastly different but I'm a young guy that is pretty open minded. With that in mind I don't think you could go wrong.

Cali, Lima, La Ceiba, Hong Kong, Moscow, Sibiu, Sofia, etc... I could have a great time and meet stunning women at any of those cities. Eventually you've got to get away from the generalized thinking and jaw dropping when you see a stunner and find a woman that in practice is fun to live with and takes good care of you.

obyjuan, if I were you, I would stay farrrr away from Mother Russia. You dont know what a user is til you get used by one of them. Any of the other satellite countries should work well though. Just not Russia.

I'm real leery of the women from the former USSR nations--Baltic Sea--eastern European region, period. It's not just the air and water that are cold and cruel there....

I know a few russian ladies (from 25-60) who I worked with when I was in school. There are a bunch of message boards dedicated to the topic as well. I wouldn't hesitate to fly to Moscow. I don't think you'll find a hotel room for under $100-$125 a night though... just an FYI there.

I know this is strictly off topic within this forum; the "find a woman from abroad" movement around the world seems to be divided into two camps - those interested in East European & FSU women, and those preferring the Latin or Asia option (i know it's crude to generalise but this merely reflects my own general observations), and this forum caters for the latter. Nevertheless there are many many guys from all over the Western world still striking gold within the Slavic world despite some of the disaster stories circulating around and the bad press FSU women still attract from certain quarters. Clearly this wouldn't be possible if all FSU women are treacherous.

I think it's a case of horses for courses here, as with most things. There is a variety of contributors on this forum and we all seek different models of fulfillment from our personal lives. However, for me personally, no amount of sweetness, sexiness or "family vaules" in a woman can ever substitute for a lack of education or cultural and intellectual stimulus, and with respect to these qualities FSU women still hold the upper hand over nearly everyone else. Certainly, if I should be lucky enough to attract the right offer" from one of the "motherlands" then i'll be very glad to switch camps and bring my Latin adventures to a close.

Well certainly this website is divided into two factions on the woman issue. But there are really three separate ones.

Go over to the Russian side. To me those women seem to be hardcore feminists. Just read what the Russian women over there write. That is not something I'd want to jump into.

Probably if you are OK with raising 2-3 of some other man's kids, you'll do quite well with them also. Or if you want someone on the older side, say over 30.

Plus I think you'll have a hard time finding a Russkie woman who has had less than 10 or 20 partners in her lifetime. Yuck.

I'd go with Moscow and skip Saint Petersburg personally. I get the impression they are far more pretentious in Saint Petersburg. I also saw that Henry called russian women hardcore feminists. I'd disagree. They are in many cases old fashioned from my perspective. Open their car door, pull out their chair... that sort of thing. I had a russian professor from Moscow who I've learned a little about the culture from. Judging by his discription of the average russian man's habits and behavior I'd say it is no wonder the women have an interest in westerners.

They say when you travel to Latin America that you can act like a "man". Actually it is pretty much a prereq for success. I would think that is even more true in Russia. If you are a pwhipped dude with a bruised ego I don't think Russian women (or latin women) is your cure. Of course I'm generalizing but you get the idea.

The younger woman I worked with from Russia was freakin hot and was adjusting to the very different culture of midwestern living. It took her awhile to chill and lighten up.

I'm no expert on the FSU scene, but i do know that in a country as vast and diverse as Russia it's practically impossible not to find your preferences catered for, irrespective of how spoilt parts of it may have become due to what is now an extensive and well-trodden Western bachelor trail. I'm also pretty sure that in parts of the Caucasus and Central Asia there are plenty of dusky-looking women just as attractive and alluring as Latinas, albeit perhaps in a more subtle way.

As far as the debate over Feminism goes, well, let's just say that everywhere you go there is a risk of encountering true misandry. However, I am someone who is most definitely not looking for a stay-at-home housewife or a woman whose main ambition in life is to have a family. I put great value a woman's education and potential to pursue a career in the West. And this is my primarily reason for considering a trip to the backwaters of the FSU as an alternative to trying to meet a soulmate within those parts of Latin America where European culture and education are held in high esteem.

I don't get it. Are you telling me you don't think you'll be able to find an educated girl who is career oriented in Manizales or Bogota?

I would think all the major cities in Russia have college educated women. But Manizales is a college town and Bogota has plenty of colleges. Hong Kong is full of educated women. I just don't get your post. Educated women can be found all over the planet.

Not quite, BCC. I'm pretty sure i could meet educated, cultured and career-minded girls in Bogota, Manizales, Popayan... or even in Cali if I tried hard enough. And yes, of course there are many educated and independent women all around the world, certainly in the Far East and in parts of the Latin world too. However, in order to meet a smart girl who is truly compatible with me in all regards I'm best off searching somewhere where I can meet as many smart girls as possible in as short time as possible. In Colombia, realistically speaking that limits my options to considering only a few cities but other countries may well offer me a greater range of choices, and for this reason I am keeping my options open.
