I have been happily following Heruamen's trip report but I haven't noticed any additions to it since early October. I am aware that there was a typhoon there around that time. Is he and his girl ok? Does anyone here know?

Hey soltero,

Heruamen is just a few hours away from me on the island of Mindanao. Our weather has been great! If not for the TV news, I would have had no idea that there were storms in Luzon. We are around 500 miles south of Manila (island of Luzon). We are below the typhoon belt and inland from the Pacific coast. We rarely have bad weather since we are surrounded by mountains which protect us from typhoons and other storms, should they come our way. There has been some flooding in the past years along the rivers...but nothing like in Greater Manila area. We did have a 3.1 M earthquake a few weeks back, but my wife and I slept right through it.   ::)

I have IM'd him a few times in the past with no response. If you hear from him, could you please have him IM me. I am going to be in his area soon and would like to get together. He is probably just busy having a good time. I know he had wanted to do some traveling and sight seeing.

Thanks,

Dave

I was wondering the same thing too - what happen to Heruamen, what & how is he doing.
As Dave said, maybe he is just too busy enjoying himself & doing a lot of sight seeing.

Bear, I was just about to ask about Romello too.

Thanks, Dave!

I have been checking back in to see if he has posted anything else about his trip and it looks like he hasn't been around since the beginning of October. I would like to know if all is well with him as he still hasn't sent me an email yet. It sounds like, from your description of your area, that he might just be caught up in his daily joy and has indeed missed having any issues due to the storm. I hope that is the case. Thanks, again, and if I hear from him, I will let him know you want him to contact you. Please do the same for me!

Hi soltero,

Yeah, no calamities of nature down here, just lots of sunshine.  I will definitely keep you updated if I hear something! I know his area pretty well. If I get over that way soon, I will look him up.

Any updates from either Heruamen or Romello?

Sorry Soltero, a brother was so busy constantly getting some loving having fun and exploring that i didnt have much chance to go online. I got back in America 10 days ago and body is still adjusting after being there for 3 months.  I am already ready to go back again.  The only reason I came back now is because of my daughter.  I love the phils the people the weather and oh mi God the food.  I am having so much trouble adjusting to eating here.  I went from having 3 meals a day prepared for me by my lovely fiance to trying to figure out what i am going to eat day to day.  I am spoiled rotten to the core. I had so much fun and learned many things on my journey.  I hope everything is well with you and your beautiful hot sexy latin girl.  She could actually pass for a Filipina since I saw so many girls there with a similar look to the latin girls here is a picture of my girls cousin just to demonstrate.

I am just glad that you had a great time and managed to avoid any harm! It's good to have you back even though I can fully understand your desire to get back on that plane! Give me a call when you can as we have much talk about. Congratulations again on the newest edition to the family! I hope to hear from you soon...

Due to exceptionally hard times, I have postponed any and everything related to seeking a foreign bride. It may be years before I will be able to invest anything into that dream again. Right now, I am just trying to keep my head above water and keep from getting carried out with the tide!

Soltero,

Here's to hoping that things turn around faster for you than you think they might. I have been in situations where it looked like I was facing financial ruin and wouldn't be able to find work (if there was any work to be had) for a long time. As pretty much any job I maybe could have got was far away, it looked like I wouldn't even be anywhere near my sons and that I'd be working any jobs I could get.

Being able to show the govt. sufficient income to even considering bringing a wife from overseas looked impossible.

Every situation's different, but don't give up on your dreams and keep keeping on. I know--'easy for me to say--harder for another person to do'...

But God works in mysterious ways. Maybe that light at the seemingly distant end of the tunnel isn't an oncoming train--it's the sunlight, waiting for you.

Hang in there guy....
Whether you think you can or think you can't--you're right!
