Glad to hear your process is moving along
any idea when Francy will have her interview?
does that happen at the end of the visa application process?
you mite have already said but do you plan to fly there for her interview?
Also do you intend to have her take driving lessons while she is still in the PI?

I wish you and Francy the best of luck with the K-1 process. Hopefully, my K-1 journey is finally about to come to an end - my fiancee has her interview in 3 weeks. I sure know that the whole process can be trying at times because you are dealing with the government but don't sweat it and your interview will be here before you know it.

Hi all,

We are waiting to hear back from the USCIS for an interview date at the embassy in Manila. Filed for the K1 a little over a month ago.  Vermont Service Center processing time is currently listed at approx. 122 days.  When my girl gets her interview date, I will be booking a 2-week trip to go see her, meet the folks in the province, and accompany her to the interview.  Been gleaning as much information as I can from VisaJourney.com.....

I will most likely not fly over to see her for the interview.  I will be starting a new career and I'm still in school for my Masters.  I really have no time to leave the city for more then a few days.

We have talk about this and she knows I will be waiting here for her. 

I have the wedsite to check the progress of the Immigration Service, however I hope is will go pretty quick.

All is good I leave Sunday from LAX she is going to meet me when i arrive in manila sometime around 11:00pm Monday night. And i will be there for a little over 3 weeks. I dont know when ill have time to post but i will do what i can.

Me?  I'm working 10-12 hr days, 7 days a week and will probably through June.  We call it Summer work.  When the schools shut down I have to have submittals with sequences, wiring diagrams, parts, working crews on site to start and then I get to do the programming that makes it all work.  I love what I do but this part of the year wears you down real quick and currently I have about 25 binders on my desk and I hear more coming and the sellsmen turning down work!?  I usually get the retrofit/upgrade jobs that require the most research because jobs say match existing and no one tells me what the existing is?  Where with new installations you get all kinds of equipment submittal.

But my oldest is also in t-ball and winning this year!  Which means if I'm not working I get to go spend whats left of the day watching/helping/coaching t-ball (do I really want the all-stars and summer tournaments? Yeah!!!!).  And I guess being the chaperone for the last field trip of my oldest is only going to take a one days but if I don't do it who will?  This is with only 1 of three cubs doing it.  How will I ever do all 3 cubs?  Honey had better learn to drive (I know you're reading this girl!!!)

piglet and Cbear.  You two should give us an update.

My internet advertising really started to kick in and for the last couple weeks I haven't had much time. The time I get off I want to be out sailing (bought a half interest in a small boat). I check in but nothing to post really. With the way business is going I will probably fly to China to meet the girl I've been talking to in the near future...I got my first good set of bills out and waiting to see how well I'll do on the next ones. Assuming I'm still doing at least OK I'll buy a plane ticket for June or July, and try to figure out whether to meet in Sanya or Qingdao.

No updates till this mess is settled.  I never thought this would be a problem when dating a Philippina lady.

OK here's my update. I'm still chatting & with Marily & from time to time I'll call her.
As i have said in the past she is a nurse in Manila but she is from Romblon province
some little town called sibuyan.
I had to limit the # of nights i would chat with her.
she works from 6pm to 6am 6 nights a week.
she started to not get enough sleep & i became concerned
1 night she had to find a corner that no one ever looks in & take a nap in a chair.
so i told her that i could only chat with her 3 nights a week.
I don't want her to loose her job. she mite not be able to find anotherone & this would make her look very bad to her parents.
I still intend to go in November to see her & meet her parents in the province.
her farther a commercial fisherman doesn't speak a lot of English
however her brother who in attending collage near by does, so i figure if i can get in good with the brother i should be OK.
I have decided to spend 3 weeks there instead of just 2.
warm weather is finally here & more & more work is falling in my lap.

sounds to me like some of her family members have boundary issues.
they think because they have all this money that they can decide what your girl can & can not do.
almost like they own her of something!!!
I think they are misguided & should ease up a little.

I have been talking to my mahal, and finishing the end of the school year stuff.  Also, conducting spring football practice lol.  It is already hot here and I have been sweating at least three pounds off every day lol.  Cant wait for July when I go back to Makati and see her in person.

Well, the Manny Pacquiao vs Ricky Hatton fight only took a few minutes of my time...but the celebrating went on for days! ;D

I was down from computer melt down and too busy to fix it. We were searching for a new place with a little more room and a good location. Finally found it. Moving in and buying furnishings is taking some time. We are still not living there yet. I still have to get the aircons installed. The hot water heater will be next!  :o We had one house blessing. I'm not sure what is left...I think a small dinner.

Hey jm,

If that's the case then you had better go ahead and get your Chinese visa now because they are currently taking longer to be issued than normal because of the swine flu scare. As of now, no more expedited service is being offered and a new declaration form is now being required which asks where you have traveled in the last couple of weeks.

Oh yea definitely don't use a western website to book a ticket within China. Best bet is to book a ticket to either Shanghai, Beijing or Hong Kong and then use a Chinese travel agent to book a domestic ticket within China to your final destination. Try www.ctrip.com, I have always had good luck with them. My fiancee lives in Xiamen and if I try to book a ticket via a western website it costs over $2000. But I can book a ticket to Hong Kong for $950 and then book a ticket from there to Xiamen with a Chinese travel agent for about $100(roundtrip).
