I have always flown American from LA to Miami and then non stop to Medellin, never had any problem at all, luggage always arrived with me, prices have been reasonable. I'm about to buy another ticket for medelin in a couple of weeks and hopefully the prices will remain reasonable. My only issue has been with Custom's in Miami, last time I came back from Medellin, they were really jerks and gave me the third degree. I wanted to ask them if it was illegal to travel to medellin as they certainly acted like I had broken the law.

I fly continental, we have 3 or 4 daily flights into Houston. Take the red eye into Bogota and the morning flight into Barranquilla.

Avianca has a direct flight from Miami into Barranquilla. Spirit Air flies from Miami to Medellin, Bogota, and Cartagena.

I live in the Rockies so the best deal is continental for me.

I'm in Los Angeles so I fly COPA to see my lady in BAQ. I usually take the red eye flights which are usually cheaper and for some reason the customs people are a lot easier to deal with later on at night. Most of them look half asleep like I do at 1 or 2 in the morning, so that probrably has something to do with it! :D

I watched "Cocaine Cowbow" on Showtime the other night and I completely understand why Miami Customs would be very suspicious of anyone traveling from Colombia , especially Medellin .Cocaine Cowboy was a very good documentary about how tons of cocaine flooded into Miami back in the early 80's .

Pretty sure that was continental. San Pedro Sula isn't in Colombia btw.

Can't believe I'm saying this (I have not used them) but outside of online personals there is an agency in Honduras. http://www.amorsi.com/

Doesn't mean they aren't... but I don't see anything about their IMBRA compliance. Which seems to be pretty normal for agencies.

Hey guys ,

I have used airfarewatchdog.com for a while and in the tips and tricks section they say to look for  cheap new fares to be posted every morning around 5 am eastern time. I have watched this pattern and it is true. The fare's really start to raise around 8 am. The weekends are a great time to look early in the morning. I have seen the same fare raise as much as $350 during the day and reset the next morning to start all over again. The website I mentioned will email you only what you want for the cities you choose. I have saved mucho dinero with this approach to searching for a fare online to BQ.

I will be traveling back to BQ in April . I have used Avianca before and have been impressed with the first rate service and plane they provide. I wish some American company's would learn a few things from them.

Hope this helps
