tourist visas
« on: March 18, 2009, 08:30:05 PM »
Does anyone know the timetable for tourist visas, specifically how long does it take to get the interview at the consulate in Bogota? I believe the applicant can get approval the same day. Is that so?

Last I heard there was an incredibly long wait to get the appointment for the visa and if my memory serves me right, I think the denial rate was over 95 percent.  But I haven't checked in more than a year, so things might have changed since I last inquired.

I don't think it takes that long to get the appointment, but you're probably right about the rejection rate.

Many members of my wife's family have tourist visas. The appointments are relatively quick, within a couple of weeks. The rejection rate is very high.

They certainly can get approved the same day- that's because they say NO so much, the processing of that handful of approvals can be done in a matter of minutes.

Intention to return- most dont.

Single, attractive, that's two strikes, lack of sufficent ties to their country. Strike three.

i was told by my lawyer that it is very hard to get the visa unless the person has strong ties to the cumminty, House,Job, mother leaving her children behind and going to visit and then going back to her family.

best of luck

here is another kicker about there tourist visa's .

I have know a few ladies that had visa's , and used them correctly . Never over stayed there time here in the US , and when it came time to renew them for 5 more years they were rejected . This has happened to a lot of people .

Makes no sense to me ....
